Very Caring Community

The Pines of Mount Lebanon is one of the friendliest, most caring communities I have been in. Everyone from the EOO on down care about the residents and the residents know the staff well. Very homey feeling the moment you walk in!

Nice community where families help care for each other.

Not enough staff. Good person fired not warranted. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would possible recommend The Pines of Mt. Lebanon community to other families.

Recommend, absolutely!

Greeted by a cheerful receptionist and asked if I wanted a beverage. Nice wide hallways with several quiet areas. Large screen TVs in living rooms and Theater. Currently getting fresh new paint and flooring. Friendly staff. It is a difficult decision to bring a loved one to an assisted living facility. They make it feel like home.

Not Bad but has room to improve

Initially. Not really happy with the facility and staff. Have seen good improvement in the last 6 months. Some turnover has occurred for the better.

Homey Environment-Staff was an Issue

They were always available but not helpful. We picked this community because they were available, and offered respite care. The people were very nice, but they were understaffed. The maintenace guy was out, so it was challenging when things needed to get done. My loved one did not receive medication for several days, and did not always get a weekly shower. It was a very nice place, and was homey. They were very accommodating.

Do your due diligence.

They make my loved one feel welcome. They need to be much more organized and care motivated. We picked this community, because it was reasonably priced, a good location, we were assured the care would be good, and I was told the food was great!

They took good care of her while I was away.

My loved one seemed to enjoy herself. The staff were very nice, and they took good care of her while I was away. The one thing they need to do is let families know there are no TVs when you're there for respite care. I had to find one at the last minute, which was very upsetting.

Overall satisfied

The facility is small enough that the staff has been able to get to know my loved one by name. They understand and respect his preferences. The activities director is exemplary. She has devised a variety of creative activities that appeal to different people. I have concerns that they are understaffed on the weekends. It's frustrating that we have to wait for one of the busy nurses to come downstairs to unlock the door and let us in during the daylight hours on weekends as well as during lunch on weekdays. There have been times when my loved one waited for nursing help for an unacceptably long time. There were also times he required housekeeping staff and nobody was available. These issues tend to occur at night and on weekends. Staff have made an effort to get to know me and are always friendly and helpful.

Needs Proper Staffing.

They are extremely understaff, and overprice for what they can offer at this point with the staffing they do have, however the staff that are present and there are trying very hard to do the best they can.

Tour experience

We showed up for our tour at The Pines and the person who was supposed to show us around was not there, so we got the tour from somebody else. The facility was older and I just did not like it as much as I was hoping. It was more expensive as well and the location was not easy for us to get to.

Positive experience

We chose The Pines of Mt. Lebanon because we really liked the room set up, it was perfect for my mom and had everything that she needed. We have lots of visitors and it had a good sized living area. They have enough activities to keep them busy but not too much. Going down for the meals is very nice and someone always lets the residents know when they are supposed to go down for meals or when there are activities so they don't miss out on anything. I would definitely recommend The Pines to others.

We had a good tour experience with The Pines of Mt. Lebanon. The facility was very nice but the only hard thing for us was that it was during Covid and there wasn't much activity going on when we visited.

Better Than expected

I cared for my family member at home for six years. Most all care facilities could not meet my standards for my wife. However, The Pines of Mount Lebanon comes close. The facility is kept clean and smells that way. The staff and Aides are attentive to my concerns when any thing I feel is not up to standards. More importantly, they are aware of my wife's needs and care level and do a good job to see that she is well taken care of.

Tour experience

We toured with the Pines at Mt. Lebanon and thought the facility was just fine. The drawback for us was the room that they would have available for my dad that they showed us was very dark. This was the reason we did not choose The Pines.

Our Experience

Sometimes they forget to give her a shower or change her. They do have a wonderful activities program and try to keep residents active. You must stay abreast of everything going on there and just not be assuming they will do what they say they will do each week.

Disappointed - it wasn't as they explained

There's very poor communication between family and staff, especially in the nursing area. Difficulties with always finding someone to help you when you need help. What you saw in the beginning, is not what you ended up having in the end.

Room for Improvement

I feel like this community may be short staffed but other than this things are okay. There is room for improvement. The staff that are at the community are fine and we do have a lack of response time from time to time for whatever reason.
