Sunrise of Gahanna

Feel very comfortable leaving my Sister in their care. Staff provides individual interaction with attentive care. Nurses and staff keep in contact with me and report any issues that may arise regard my Sisters health and needs she may have. Also, Food is prepared from scratch by an in house chef.

The staff at Sunrise of Gahanna are so helpful. They treat my mom like a queen.

I shopped around to several facilities. I really feel like God led our family to Sunrise of Gahanna for my mom. My mom even stated, “God is showing us some very special people.” I think she is right. The one thing I find that is very consistent is that everyone cares. My mom immediately adjusted. I like that this facility is not too big. It’s very much like family. I made that comment to one of the patients and one of the other patients commented, “oh no they are much better than family.” We all laughed. I’m glad we made the decision to come to Sunrise!

We are needing to move a parent to memory care. This place was very nice, clean, pleasant , and personal. The team members have worked there a long time, which tells us a lot. And the food looked and smelled so good ! The rooms were very nice and big. A nice outside area too. As hard as it is to have a parent needing additional care, this is a great place for them to go

My sisters & I toured Sunrise to find a place for our 96 year old mother who has dementia. We toured the Gahanna location with the Admissions director. We all sat down to discuss our mother’s current condition before we toured. The director answered many questions we hadn’t even thought of! The tour was complete & it felt very comfortable & friendly. We met lots of staff as we walked around. I came away feeling this would be a safe place & a good fit for mom.

The whole community has a home like feel. The friendly staff truly care about the residents and their families. The Executive Director sets the tone and pleasant atmosphere you get when you enter the community. The leadership team and several other staff have many years with Sunrise.

From the time I first toured Sunrise to present day I was excited to be a part of the experience here. Everyone is kind, respectful ,and polite. They are able to answer my questions, the few times they didn’t they would find out the answer and get back to me. My family has been with me on this healing journey. They say since I’ve come to Sunrise I’m happier, and have interesting stories to share with them. We stay as busy with activities as we want to. Alone time doesn’t seem alone but private, someone will be there to help if needed. All workers are welcoming and willing to assist, one another and residents, which is how a healthy neighborhood should be managed by all residents. Thanks Bev Ps. Food is the best!

We enjoyed a Sunday Brunch with Christmas decorations, live music and shared the joy with other residents and their loved ones. My mother told me it was one of the best days of the year. Sunrise helps make this possible and gives her many days like this for us to enjoy with her.

My friend’s mom lives here and I’m impressed every time I come to visit. I joined the family for the thanksgiving meal, and I just attended a brunch. Both were delicious and lovingly prepared. This was definitely not institutional food. The people who work there seem to genuinely care for the residents. The only thing I would like to see is daily exercise. My friend’s mom has gone downhill so fast because there’s nothing to keep her blood circulating and her muscles strong.

The executive staff, concierge staff, care staff, and nursing staff are all very friendly and helpful. They have treated my mom with respect and have communicated with me very clearly. The move in process was great. The meals are good quality and you can always order something else if you don't want the main entrée. I would recommend this facility to others.

We like that the Sunrise of Gahanna community is close to where we live. The director is great! We like the fact that it is small. Lots of windows... feels homey. Most of the workers are very caring!!

The staff at Sunrise of Gahanna is fantastic! Even the management participates in the activities and they are always available for help and assistance. The policy of having a resident dog and cat is great and it makes the residents feel like they are living at home. The arrangements of the rooms and lounges also makes one feel like a home instead of a hospital or hotel. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

My loved one loves the food. They always have activiites, and try to get my loved one engaged. They have really good communication with the familiy. The staff is well trained on Dementia/Alzheimer's patients. They go to a special training and it really shows. They are very caring and friendly. They have a lot of fun things for everyone to do, such as special nights; like movie nights, football nights, and outside entertainment. They also invite the families to the events. One other thing, the medical staff is very attentive.

Sunrise truly is a caring and compassionate community. The executive director [name removed] has a very charming personality and just an outstanding person. They keep us up to date with everything and anytime we have questions or concerns they are addressed immediately. The staff are very efficient in the work and we have nothing but great things to say about them. Our loved one is well taken care of, always in clean clothes and her room is always clean. Her room is very cheery, they have good activities. They have a beautiful courtyard where they do BBQ cookouts. They also have resident rescue dogs and a couple of rescue cats.

This is a wonderful community with caring and great staff who are very helpful. They are also compassionate. They were able to assist with the care of my loved one during their short stay. The staff were great at accepting and bringing my loved one into the community. I wish we would have been able to see more of the care available; however, my loved one didn't make it long prior to passing.

The staff really sticks us to us, you can tell they care about each and every individual and they get to know them on a very personal level. They have been absolutely wonderful. It is expensive but worth every penny. Overall it has been a super positive experience and we would highly recommend Sunrise to other families.
