I love the place. People very friendly. A lot of activities if you are interested. Also, the availability of the health clinic has been nice for my mom. I'm giving my opinion of the place not my mom's who actually lives there but I think she would feel the same.

No place is perfect, however Westerwood comes close. I chose the facility because of its reviews, excellent rehab facility, and iis not corporate owned. Many of other facilities tend to get resold to other corporations for profit sharing. Westerwood is privately owned. Westerwood has managed to attract longterm employees - thus a more pleasurable experience for other employees and their residents. They always call to let me know when my brother falls or is injured. The facility has been remodeled and is very inviting. Cleanliness is excellent. My brother has enjoyed the food and living there. Even though he is much better and going back to his own private residence, he would be very willing to come back and live at Westerwood should he become unable to care for himself again at some point in the future. My only complaint - they need to have one more night aide working on his floor. Even though they have a low turnover rate, it is hard for many facilities to hire enough aides.

We really liked the facility and staff. The Memory Care unit is quite different from the rest of the facility. Sometimes they were short on staff, sometimes the residents were a handful,... Everyday was different.

My loved one is currently a resident at Westerwood in Independent Living. I have been very pleased with everything at this facility. The staff and fellow residents are so friendly and accommodating. The cleanliness is great. The activities, food and value for cost are also great. Westerwood is the perfect place for my mom. I would recommend Westerwood to family and friends.

The staff and residents are all very friendly. They have all kinds of activites. I picked this community because of the frinliness when I visited, and they offer four different levels of care, and I was looking for a home that had skilled care. I would recommend to other families.

It was the best way to get help. Wonderful! Thank you! They are taking good care of my loved one. The the meal plan and hours open on Saturday and Sunday is not very helpful. Perhaps different options should be available for those who remain in house on the weekends. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place to others. It depends on the person, I suppose. I didn't like the location or city, but the facility is great.

The majority of areas I rated a 5 because the facility, I feel, deserves those ratings. The areas I rated a 4, I feel, need some improvement. If the activities and the value for the money improved, then my overall rating will improve.

Westerwood has very nice and caring staff, nice facilities, very helpful in marking arrangements to move in. My mom has commented on how much she likes the meals but we cannot comment on activities yet. The offer many but mom has not gotten involved. A little on the pricey side but worth it for the peace of mind.

I toured several communities, including this one. This one was the worst as far as area and freedom.
My mom is having a great time. Everyone is always friendly when we visit. She has so many activities to do. They are renovating apartments. Hers was and it is like a brand new one with all stainless steel appliances. The food is excellent with good portions and allow residents to take back any leftovers. I think it could be a few hundred less a month or offer two meals a day instead. They have happy staff that have been there for decades with a plaque of names. Clean. The assisted living and Independent living are connected. The dining is set up like a restaurant with a menu to order from with soup, salad, entree, and desert. They can take what they don't eat in takeout box. Good food, higher end cooking and not heating up food. There are many events and activities. A little shop, bank, wellness center, free drinks center, hair salon, game room, fitness center, outdoor area of bocce ball, sitting, garden plots, and a small preserve park with trail. Shuttling to Kroger, Aldi, and Kohl's. There is a doctor who visits. Clinic. A large amount of residents to make more friends. Send me updates of any COVID outbreaks. Close to Westerville and Easton Town Center to go shopping. Near 270 for easy access. St. Ann's Hospital is nearby.

My loved one does not like the food, and sometimes we take her food to eat. They don't get my loved one ready/dressed, and they don't do anything. My loved one is paying for extra care monthly, but they are not doing their job. They need stronger leadership, and they need to make sure people are where they are supposed to be, and make sure people are doing there job. In addition, they have a few good aides.

Westerwood is wonderful. My loved one seems happy and very content here. The staff communication with the family is very good. The community offers three meals a day to the residents and there are choices for the residents to choose from.

Our family had an in person tour and we really liked the Westerwood community, our tour guide was wonderful but the community was so big that our loved one was worried it would be to much walking getting to and from all the places.
I suspected immediately after talking to caseworker (name removed) that my Mother was in good hands. I’m not an Ohio resident and made the trip to see my mother and evacuate her care. There are many sensitive issues regarding her placement and other family members are involved. The caseworker was very understanding, accommodating, and very wise!! She facilitated the meeting addressing everyone’s view and concerns and gave us a platform to discuss these concerns. This may be her job but it’s the manner in the way she had presented herself. She truly did care about the circumstances and took time to listen and offer her expertise. I am a care taker for a disabled man who currently is in a nursing and the contrasts are amazing. I truly can feel the love here. The nurses and staff have been most attentive and very kind . My experience with Westerwood is stellar and definitely wish my mother could stay still being determined. I know I could relax living far away if mom was placed there!!

Our whole family has been satisfied with moms stay at Westerwood. It took her a while to adjust but she is doing better. The staff members here are wonderful and have been great with her. I would recommend to others who are looking.
So far my experience has been excellent so far, and this community has had no covid cases. The dining facility is excellent, they have a very good dining hall, chef and manager. The plan I have I get one meal a day, but i can pay extra if i want more. There are exercise classes, games, movie nights and a lot of other things to get us up during the day and having fun. The staff is very cordial, and attentive. If you have questions and they don't know the answer they will find someone who does and not brush you off. Usually any issues are resolved in a timely manner. All the residents are very welcoming to the newcomers, they help them get around the community and show them where things are.

We toured this community and the tour was very good. The staff was very friendly and they provided lots of information to us. Th community was very nice and I would recommend it.
We used services in the Nursing Care Center and in the Assisted Living areas. My father was admitted from the hospital Trauma Step Down unit after a terrible fall. The staff were all attentive and frequently went above and beyond in the care and compassion they gave to not only my father but all our family members. The entire multidisciplinary team worked seamlessly together for the benefit of the patient. They were all very collaborative with family members and took the time to educate all of us on my father's progress and care needs. I attribute the great care he received with his ability to advance through the continuum of care to the level he has now attained -to live in independent living. All the staff became like members of our extended family. I will never forget their kindness and willingness to do whatever it took to ensure my father attained his greatest capability to return to his normal activities of daily living. Kudos to ALL the Friendship Village Columbus staff!!

A Place for Mom has scored Westerwood 9.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
