I would not recommend for the level of care my mother needed. They were not able to provide the care she needed. She was not mobile, not really mindful and incontinent. She was covered in stool several times I was there and did not respond to my attempt at the call light. For those that were mobile and in there right mind, I assume the experience was different.

The staff was exceptional. The facility was older but we chose the care over the physical plant. The staff had an approach that as long as dad was there, he would be happier if he participated in attending the lunch room and activities. They went extra effort to make that happen as long as dad could. Dad was end stage and ended up bring there only 30 days. The one on one patient care was wonderful. The facility wasn't one of the new ones w large windows and fancy lobby furniture, but based on several recommendations about the personal care we chose them. It is also small, I am not sure I remember exactly but memory care was 12 and assisted was maybe 24, but I am not totally sure on that. The physical plant is a little out of date but I hear they are updating it. There is more to selecting the place for a loved one, especially a short timer, than curtains and upholstery.

I would not recommend Brookdale Westerville to anyone looking for a Memory Care facility for their loved one. The facility was not prepared to handle my mother in law's level of acuity when she arrived. They did not teach her how to use the pull cord in case she needed help, which resulted in her trying to get out of bed on her own and falling. The staff regularly did not carry or have turned on the device that alerts them when a resident has pulled the cord. We also had to fire the hospice that Brookdale recommended to us because they were incompetent. Again, I would not recommend Brookdale Westerville.

The facility is dirty, dark, depressing, and in need of upgrades. They are greatly understaffed. Staff does not have the time to do all that is required of them. Good employees do not stay long. Residents that have a good mind do not like the director. He spends a lot of time out of the office or playing his guitar. Complaints are ignored. Most residents dislike the food. Dietary needs are ignored. Rooms are not cleaned because of staff shortage. Maintenance is extremely slow. Some mail boxes are not secured. There is theft. They do not honor their own contracts. It does no good to contact the corporate office. Nothing changes. They have no problem increasing the rates. The last increase was over 18%.

This was an older community. It was in disrepair, and not clean. The gal that worked with us was good, but she had little to work with.
The food is excellent. The billing has been a disaster though and the maintenance is not timely either. The staff have been pretty good with communication with the families.

We had a good virtual tour at Brookdale Westerville. They took us around the facility and showed us not only an available room, but what the exterior of the building for that room would look like, patio and all. They introduced us to some staff that was available. It seemed to be a little smaller of a facility, and we were just looking for more residents for our loved one to be able to interact with.
Brookdale Westerville was old and run down, dark, dreary, and small. It needed a lot of repairs

We toured this community and the tour was good and they answered all our questions.
I did not have a good experience on our tour with Brookdale. I found the facility to be dirty, dark, and dingy. I would not put my mom here. When we looked at the memory care wing, they were playing music that should not have been being played for these residents. Also, they had no office for us to sit and talk to them in so we were in an open room and had no privacy. They had a band playing in the background so we left not knowing half of the things that they said.

We chose Brookdale Westerville because it was the only one available that would take her at the time. The room sizes at the facility are adequate for what she needs. I would tell others that the facility is locked down and very safe. I would recommend to others looking an already have.

We toured this community and it was very nice. The pricing was just to high for us.
I would recommend that you visit a number of places. I found that to be the best way, It took me six months to find a good fit for my mom. The rooms are a good size, my mom has a single room. The food is okay.

We signed the contract and two days later my friend had a stroke and needed hospice. I called Brookdale and let them know that she would not be moving in. They wanted to bill me from the day I signed the contract to the day she died plus an additional 7 days. She never moved in. I understand paying for the days they held the room but not the extra days. I finally go it worked out after I spoke with the national office. It was a horrible experience

I liked that the community was small and the staff were kind and helpful. Katie did a wonderful job with the tour and providing information on the cost and services. The only downfall is the carpet is worn out in the building and there were a lot of odors. I hope that the corporation that owns Brookdale will update the building without increasing the cost of care.

Nursing home feel. All areas are locked so they could be together most of the time and yet have separate rooms to sleep in. Staff was so very friendly. [Name removed] was wonderful. Pricing was really good. Considering as possibility. Depending on dad wanting to pay more or less.

My grandma likes some of the activities offered and they have a church music group that comes in to entertain. The staff have been friendly and we have good communication with them. She seems to enjoy the food. The community is well taken care of inside and out. I would recommend this community.
