Everything has been fantastic with them at Spring House I tell them that all the time. My grandmother herself was quite the opposite but she is finally deciding that she would like to stay there . it was a hard transition for her personally, but Springhouse was amazing and helped astronomically to convince her living on her own wasn't the safest option. Communication about nannys needs and thoughts on how to improve her transition throughout the process has been extremely helpful... Read more

Response from Springhouse of Pikesville
October 18, 2024Thank you for your kind words! Reviews like this are so meaningful to us.
It has been a good experience overall! There have been a couple of people who were not very attentive, but over the past couple months, it has gotten better. Overall, most people were very helpful transitioning my mother to assisted living. What stood out to me was that the facility was well taken care of (clean and didn't smell bad) and the director was wonderful in helping us with paperwork and answering all our questions. The amenities (salon, in house pcp, podiatry visits etc) also were also important as my mom cannot get around very well.

August 27, 2024Thank you for your kind words! Reviews like this are so meaningful to us.
The facility is beautiful. The activities are great. My mother did not get the assistance she needed. The staff were not patient or helpful enough. They were always short staffed... I moved my mother out because the price increased astronomically with only 3 months notice. My mom is not wealthy. I would only recommend this assisted living facility if you are able to afford them.

Response from Springhouse of Pikesville
August 27, 2024Thanks for your post; we would like to talk to you off-line due to patient confidentiality. Could you please contact us on our Care Line by calling 800.366.1232 or emailing careline@promedica.org so we can get more information?
A family member was there for 2 years. Since the initial residency the price monthly went up a great deal. . Also started charging for every minor item one can think of. When it was taken over by Promedica things became awful. They’re billing invoices NEVER arrived by the 10th of month, with letter after letting stating monthly charges must be paid by the tenth. There is NO way to contact anyone in the billing office, no name or contact info. Only contacting the manager on site of Springhouse which has nothing to do with billing. STAY AWAY!!!!!!

The Springhouse of Pikesville community was great and the staff members working there were great. Unfortunately the cost became too much and our loved one passed 2 weeks after leaving the facility.

I feel it was the best experience for her and us as her family. They had lots of activities to keep her busy and games to keep her mind sharp. The therapy was top notch. They were encouraging and tough at the same time. My Mom unfortunately didn't get to stay beyond a month. The Lord called her home too soon. We will miss her and the loving care she received at Springhouse. I would recommend to others.

The community was understaffed during my loved one's stay here, and sometimes the staff would be stretched thin. I would recommend you visit different communities, as this one is possibility. However, I would also recommend if you choose this community, you visit your loved one often to make sure the care is up to your expectations. The bedroom was spacious.

Springhouse of Pikesville didn’t seem to have much diversity. Being a minority, you want to be comfortable. You get vibes about whether people welcome you or not - just a gut feeling. And I didn’t feel welcomed. The director was fine, but as we walked around, I didn’t feel a good spirit or welcoming atmosphere from the rest of the people. I didn't like the layout - I thought their hallways were too long. Aesthetically from the outside it’s very elegant, and it's an ideal location up on top of the hill away from traffic. But it turned me off that their building for memory care was across the street, which wasn’t accessible for my loved one in assisted living to make it over to see his wife in memory care. And I just didn't feel that they recruited us well.
It appears that they do a good job of taking care of my family member. In general the staff are pretty good, and cleanliness is good as well.
This was my first time in this situation and having to look for a community. This was a good community and a good tour and the community was nice. I just had to find something that fit in my loved ones budget.
The activities are good, but the transportation vehicle that takes the residents out to different places has stopped working. Also the activities are not really varied, they have different classes and opportunities in the day to do things, but the activities are not stimulating there is not much physical movement. Also when it comes to the medical side of things, there is a lack of communication and follow through.

We looked at 9 different places and we chose Springhouse of Pikesville because I felt that my mom would be properly cared for here and that the staff members actually cared for their residents, they were on the ball about everything. The location was also good for everyone involved. My mom is very happy with food that is served here. She is also very happy with her physical therapist and we have overall had a great experience.

When we went into the community, they promised a lot of things. As long as your loved one can do things on their own, and know what is going on...the community is great. If your loved one can't assist themselves, then the community won't help. The community left my loved one alone in her room. They didn't help my loved one feed herself, do her laundry, clean her apartment. My loved one's room was like a cyclone had hit the room, when I was finally able to get in. There were clothes everywhere, no sheets on the bed, food everywhere, she smelled, her eyes and nose were crusty. I couldn't believe it. My loved one hadn't been out of her bed for almost a week. There were things missing. I couldn't even speak to the community the day I was able to see my loved one's room. My loved one ended up passing the night I decided to take my loved one home. I blame the doctor and the community for this development. Come to find out the doctor wasn't even seeing my loving one. The doctor gave my loved one six months to live, about a month before my loved one passed. I feel the caretakers were spiteful. The staff were getting frustrated with my loved one. They would take approximately 25-30 minutes to go see my loved one. They didn't know what she was using her buzzer to get their attention or other assistance. They didn't seem to care. The community refused to allow me to go in to pack my loved one's properties. I didn't get to go in. The community through things into boxes and they didn't wrap anything of my loved one's items. Her items were broken, tangled, and there was a special jar that was missing. There was also a basket container that was missing. They rushed in getting the room cleaned out. They didn't care about my loved one's items. Her clocks and music box were wrapped properly in her clothes. I wish I would have taken pictures of my loved one's room when I was there. I wouldn't recommend the community to take care of my dog. I tried to talk to the manager in change, she kept assuring me that they were taking care of my loved one.
