They are very professional and courteous. Everything is clean. Everyone seems friendly. Dad seems happy there. My only concern is that they weren't shaving him like we requested regularly. We pay a level 2 care fee. The apartment sizes here are probably similar to most. I wish they were bigger though. We could not afford the deluxe larger ones with 2 rooms.

I toured this community and would rate at a 1, terrible.
I would never recommend Seaton Springwood to anybody. My sister in law and my brother moved in and she was on hospice when she moved in. They knew that and they said they could care for her. She would press her button multiple times for meds and several times it would take hours to get morphine, we were told it would take 4-6 minutes. It got to the point where she had to set her clock in the middle of the night to call them or else she would not get her medicine on time. I bet I called management 10 times in the last few weeks and I still have not gotten any response from them. I removed my loved ones yesterday and still no one has said anything.

Seaton changed his medication and did not let the family know. Didn't tell us when seen by doctor. Said he needed a month to acclimate and then at 2 weeks said he was placed wrong. We thought he needed memory care from the beginning, they insisted on assisted living and after eval said he was perfect for AL and then changed their minds 2 weeks later and wanted us to immediately provide 24 hour care because they were short staffed. Moved him to memory care then refused him care less than a week later so he was not even there a month, so they gave him no time to transition. We were concerned about moving him so much and asked if there was any reason he could not stay there and they said no , then 5 days later refused to care for him. In memory care it was all women and only 1 working bathroom, so he was the only man there. They forced him to join all activities and was there in the evening in the common area sitting off to the side while all the women were in nightgowns. When they sent him to the hospital, they never contacted us that they were refusing to let him come back. He has since then moved into a different community's memory care unit and has been happy and has had no problems there.

This was a nice community. The community was slightly larger than we wanted for our loved one.
Our family had an in person tour and it was a really nice tour experience
I would recommend you check the community out to see if it is the right fit for your loved one. The way all the staff work together to care for the residents and the value for the money stands out as benefits of the community to me. The communication with staff is good. It would be nice to see more variety of activities for advanced memory care residents, and more activities offered to all the residents on the weekends. The staffing on the weekends could be improved as well.

I would tell others about Seaton Springwood's efficiency and ability to care for everyone as though they were family members. The communication between the community and our family is very good and they have a good staff to resident ratio. The move in process was as easy as could be, they offered assistance to help us move things in. Our loved one has an efficiency apartment; there's no kitchenette needed, as meals are included. The room is very spacious and it comes furnished. They'll provide anything you don't have, but you can also bring things if you'd like - they are very flexible. I would absolutely recommend Seaton Springwood to others.

I had my loved one here and they misdiagnosed the level of her care. She went into a residential group and seen that she needed more care. She then had to go to memory care and I was not happy with the memory care unit. The residential units are very nice and that's why I thought this was a good place for my loved one however, I would never recommend the memory care unit.

They've been great to deal with. All of the staff and residents have been friendly and helpful. It feels like home as much as it can not being at home. And my loved one has nothing but good things to say about the food.

I liked the tour. I went to several places in the area, and I liked this one. I liked the history of the building and the décor. I thought it was a very nice place. It sits off of a main road though, and didn’t have walking areas nearby. So we chose another place that was in a more residential, neighborhood setting.

Everybody I've met has been really great. It's very clean. My mom has a dog who is a furry little beast and sheds something fierce. The housekeeper comes in and uses a squeegee type of tool on the carpet, and it actually gets all of the dog hair up. She's just been great. Any time the dog has an accident, she runs up to the room and brings cleaning supplies. She's been really helpful, and mom's room is always spotless. I rarely see anything in the hallway that's out of place, and it never smells weird. The staff can be a little disorganized. They don't provide bad care, but there's a lack of communication. They have changed some things because of Covid, but those changes didn't make it into the handbook. So there are things you read that are not true. It would be helpful if there were things you knew in advance. Another of our concerns is the food. Our loved one is very with it still, and they've been giving her diet soda. There's no reason for her to have that, and she really doesn't like it. When she gets tea or coffee, they send her Splenda packets rather than the sugar packets. So it seems like they're trying to do one size fits all for dietary needs rather than personalizing it. Their "fresh" fruit is prepared the day before and is not fresh by the time it's served. They also serve a lot of coleslaw, which she doesn't care for. The activities are not really great for someone as alert as my mother. But she's going out and doing her own thing. They do have some fun things - for instance they did a really cute touring around the world theme, which was interesting with lots of trivia tidbits every day. The cost is so expensive, but then all of these places are. But we love that she can have her dog there, which is very important for her mental health. And I am pleased as punch with most everybody that we've met there. I'm hoping that our care plan meeting will be an opening to better communication going forward.

Other than the medical side, it's very good. But they have a shortage of medical and care personnel, so if there's a problem that comes up as they're providing routine care, there's not always an immediate response. For the most part, they're very friendly and say hi to you. Just a few are brusk, but not necessarily unfriendly. The food is decent, and my loved one seems to like it well enough. They seem to have a fairly good range and schedule of activities. The facility is wonderful, with very nice accommodations. It's well maintained, inside and out, and there are lots of spaces for residents and family to sit and gather together.

August 27, 2021Hi JB, My name is Alison, and I work at the Support Center. Thank you for taking time to rate The Haven at Springwood. We are very appreciative of your feedb ack and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss this further with you. If you would be willing to talk further, can you please call us at the community. Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you! Kind regards, Alison
My mom lived in the memory care unit so she doesn't participate in the activities provided to the other residents. She enjoyed the food, she had a positive experience. The layout of the overall community was great, very open. On the memory care side it was a little awkward, and a little hard to navigate through. Out of the other communities we looked at the staff at this facility was super friendly, their attentiveness really stood out to us. They were constantly engaging with the residents, and seemed to really care about my moms overall well being.

A place for Mom gave us a list of contacts for assisted living facilities and sent us resource material on what to look for and questions to ask. After contacting a few facilities and touring some, we chose the Haven at Springwood. At the time of our tour, they had an incentive program that waived the one time community fee. This incentive plus the way it was decorated reminded us more of a hotel rather than a senior center. The hallways are wide and well lit and it has a modern dining area that was originally a barn with high ceiling. The staff has been friendly and promptly answer any questions we have had. Our loved on is getting the care that is needed and has adjusted to their new home.

We were so grateful for A Place for Mom who gave us a list of recommended assisted living facilities in the York area and resources on what to look for and questions to ask. After touring a few on the list we decided on the Haven at Springwood. We were not sure how this move would go, but it went so smooth. The Haven recommended a mover who only moves seniors. The move was flawless. Prior to living in the Haven, our loved one did not eat well and said he did not have an appetite plus he only watched tv. Since he has been at the Haven, he has not missed a meal, is joining in activities, enjoys the musicians that come to entertain. On nice days, he sits outside and enjoys the fresh air. The staff is great and very friendly and all seem to like their jobs. The medical staff are very professional and they follow the doctors orders on medicines and refill his prescriptions . We would like to especially thank [name removed], Director of Sales and Marketing at the Haven for all her help through this process. The family is happy with our choice of the Haven.

My parents are both at The Haven at Springwood. The Staff are very friendly and compassionate in taking care of their progressing needs. Dad's Parkinson's disease will be a challenge for all and they treat him with dignity as they help with his daily needs. I would certainly recommend this facility to others.
