Oak Pointe of Kearney

I would definitely recommend Oak Pointe! They tend to have the same challenge as all of these facilities; staying fully staffed! But with the exception of one person, who is no longer there, we felt like the staff genuinely cared for our mother. The night we lost mom, in August of 2023, we had many staff members who were not even on duty, stay with us to provide comfort to our family. The facility also provided a bus for residents and staff who wanted to attend mom's visitation; even though it was an hour away! We felt very fortunate that we found Oak Pointe for mom. We have been very pleased with this facility and feel like we made a great decision in moving Mom into this facility! We have found every single staff member to be friendly, helpful, and truly caring! You never get the feeling of "that's not my job" from anyone there; even those in administrative positions are very interactive with the residents, sometimes even pitching in to help serve meals or clear tables. They do whatever is needed. There are many activities offered each month including trips outside the facility for those who choose to participate. These include exercise classes, music performances, Bingo, cards, monthly birthday parties, weekly manicures/pedicures, movies, shopping trips, lunches at nearby restaurants. Since we are close to KC, there were "watch parties" for the recent Super Bowl and celebration parade. My mother thinks the food is wonderful! There is always a daily special offered, but residents also have alternative choices if they do not want the special. Meals are served during an hour and a half "window" which gives residents some time flexibility. Fresh fruit and snacks are also always available in the front living room area! The only area I could possibly criticize would be housekeeping, and it really is not a bad problem. Mother's room is cleaned once/week which includes light dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning her bathroom, and emptying her trash. There have been a few times when her bathroom & trash needed to be addressed more than just once/week, but we have found that if we just set her trash outside her door, someone takes care of it! Our family has been very pleased with mother's care and we would definitely recommend Oak Pointe of Kearney! It is not a cheap place to live, but it is a place where residents receive attention and quality care.

I just love the fact that they always have some type of activity goin on. You can be as active as you want, or you can choose not to participate if you don't want to. They provide lots of outings for the residents, which I think is great. And everybody is super friendly. I would definitely recommend it.

My father-in-law was the one looking at a bunch of different facilities and he was much more impressed with Oak Pointe of Kearney than he was with any of the others that he saw. It has been a good experience and we would highly recommend the facility to others.

Clean very friendly community. They are very caring at this community with my loved one. They have a lot of different activities and they set the activities based off of the residents ability to make sure that it is beneficial for them.

Mom loves it!

I am very pleased with this facility and I cannot say enough good about it. When I first toured the place I really liked the hominess feeling and the people are really nice and down to earth. They provide many activities and my love one is constantly doing something. The staff encourages engagement of socializing which is good. I recommend this place to families who are looking.

I was not impressed with this community when mom lived there about a year ago. The director of the community was not very helpful. They would not follow the order the doctor recommended for her care. The community was brand new and beautiful. I would recommend looking at this community as things may have changed since she lived there.

My parents are doing very well since their move to this community. The staff is so nice and everyone does everything, they truly put the residents first. Thye only thing I would change is I would like to see a larger variety of activities. The meals are excellent. My father always brags about the food. They serve all 3 meals on time every day. During my visits, they allow me to eat with them.

Things have been a little challenging since dad moved into this community. The administration is working to improve the staffing concern. The food appears to be good. The community appears to be clean. The staff are professional and doing their best to take care of dad. They encourage him to participate in the daily activities. I would recommend this community.

My father is very happy here. A small community, but the staff is very caring and extremely helpful to help with all my father's needs New facility that is excellent. This is truly a lovely community. My mother's last days were very comfortable thanks to the staff here. My father is still at the community, they are caring for him very well. Everybody here is caring and very loving. I would highly recommend this community, it is truly a wonderful community.
