Addington Place of Shoal Creek

The Staff and Facility are wonderful!!! From Management through Staff, all individuals have been very friendly!! The building is well maintained and cared for!! Love [name removed] and her uplifting and caring demeanor!! I would recommend this Care Facility to anyone who needs respite or is looking to place a loved one!!! Addington Place truly exudes the “Home” atmosphere all our loved ones want and need!

The staff is amazing. They have lots of stuff for the residents. It is always clean and doesn't smell as some places do. Highly recommend! The staff seems to bond with the residents and pays attention to there daily activities.

What our family likes the most about Addington Place are the people. The people who work there are very attentive to my mom. She really feels as if they really care about her. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

The staff all seem to truly care about their residents. It's small enough that they know each one by name and take the time to really get to know them. I have peace of mind knowing my mom is being well cared for.

In my opinion she was not monitored closely enough. I understand that her dementia made her hard to deal with but while she was in their care, she fell at least 6 times, the last fall resulted in a fractured hip. After surgery, she never recovered just had more pain. When she was released from the hospital after surgery they informed me that they were unable to provide the care she required. We had to find another place for her to stay. She fell the day before thanksgiving and never went back there however they still charged her account for December. They are giving us the runaround about refunding that charge. They are lucky I didn't or haven't pursued a lawsuit. Would never recommend them to anyone.

They have made some improvements like consistent people in the memory care and more effort to clean the residents rooms. Activity is just so so also but mom won't usually participate. They raised rates this month and I'm really not happy about that. I realize it is difficult to get good help for this type of facility. I just wish I had other options for my mom.

We picked this community, because they help the family with placement. They had a nice staff and nice atmosphere. I would recommend to others.

My Mom is currently a resident at Addington Place of Shoal Creek, we moved her to this facility from her previous one. She has participated in rehab and has recovered to the point that she was able to move from Memory Care to an Assisted Living Apartment. She is no longer using her wheelchair and can take care of her needs, independently, on most occasions. She is making new friends, helping staff with activities and going into the community with the facility. At this facility, they are friendly and helpful and seem to care about my Mom and all of the residents. I would highly recommend Addington Place to others.

I absolutely love this place it is so amazing the rooms are gorgeous very nice It would be my 1st choose a place where I'd be comfortable in my environment The Staff are very caring people ,with the absolute Care for your loved one here they make it a home..not just a place

They are very understaffed. I picked this place because, I liked that they were all inclusive, and it was no adional costs for another level of care. The Executive Director was very personable, and ran a good organization. Be prepared for understaffing, they are doing the best they can with the resources that they have. Overall, I would recommend.

We chose Addington Place of Shoal Creek mainly because of the convenience. The staff members here are all very attentive to the residents. The meals are chef prepared and she really enjoys them. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

Toured Memory Care...the facility had a beautiful, secure outdoor area for residents. Unit was very clean and rooms overly spacious.

I recommend living here. I love my apartment space. The activities are fun and food is great!

Very, very bad overall. I cannot and would not suggest this facility to anyone looking. If you have to drive an hour away to keep your love ones in an assisted facility, do it. It starts with the people at the top and between the overall complacency and lack of accountability for all who are in charge at this location, I am baffled how they got to where they are. Not only should [names removed] not be in charge of running the day to day operations of this establishment, they shouldn't have the ability to be door greeters at the Walmart. They hired a career criminal to work here, they provided that employee keys to the facility and failed to get them back prior to firing him. This led to that employee letting himself in one night after the kitchen had closed and he helped himself to a week full of groceries. What else could that employee have done? Is this the first time this has happened? Could he have accessed the rooms? How much harm could this disgruntled employee have done given the ability he had to access the facility at his leisure. Furthermore, they hang their employees out to dry when faced with the consequences of their actions, specifically a 17 year old who secured this as his first job. Terrible to think that grown men shy away from a teaching moment and instead, through their own lack of action and inability to be accountable, throw a young man under the bus to save face. I hope that you will consider other options, this place is NOT worth what you are paying for. Absolutely Terrible.
