Legacy Retirement Residence of Mesa

I was looking for a place for my mom & dad. I live outside the area and wanted to make sure I found a place that I could trust while I'm not around and have a family atmosphere to ensure they are taking care of all the time. I toured many facilities and narrowed it down to a few. I choose this place because of the family atmosphere, friendly staff, and caring team. My mom loved it, she felt it was like living in a nice hotel/condo. The only thing I have heard from my parents is the food could have a little more flavor, but they are never leaving hungry. There is a lot of new staff members to support the residence coming onboard, and each day they are getting better. My parents are very happy and I love that they are being taking care of like they are family. I would highly recommend this place for anybody looking for their love ones to be cared for as family.

One of the things I find most comforting and assuring about Legacy Mesa is the stability of the staff. My in-laws have been living at Legacy for about two and half years and there has been very little turnover in staff. This allows the staff and residents to become familiar with each other and to form real bonds and even friendships. My husband and I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff. The care-givers and med-techs are caring and kind. The administrative staff is very responsive and willing to help when necessary.

I really just want to say Thank you for all that you do to make this place home for so many! Your smiles, hellos, and maybe just asking “how are you today?” Can make a difference. It takes special people to do this important job – from the people at the front desk, to housekeeping, the dining room servers, all healthcare personnel and maintenance! You all make a big difference. We just wanted to let you know as family of two residents that we appreciate what you do! So Merci!

She has taken the time to speak with myself, my husband, my sister and her husband every time we would come to visit and she was there. She is truly 1 of a kind. She jokes around with Dad all the time and keeps him laughing and smiling. Like I said: As this is not everything by far, I wanted to just highlight a couple amazing, over and above, WOW moments she has done for our dad and our whole family. If you value your family Member DO NOT have them reside here. My 77 year old mother with parkinsons disease was a former full time resident charged for the highest level of care and they did the bare minimum for her. They didn't understand the disease nor trued to, berated her and insulted her ( I had cameras in the room). On two occasions over an entire weekend the med techs did not give her her medicine which literally leaves her paralyzed without it. The food is sub par and the employee turn over is very high. SHe was private pay and as soon as they found out she had to go on achhhs they kicked her out. Please do not send your family member to this assisted !!

We made an appointment and met with [name removed] who was so welcoming and informative. She walked us through the process, answered all our questions, and gave us a tour. When we left, we felt so comfortable about the place and that all our questions had been answered.

Apartments very small. Other places I liked better.

We toured here, and the people here did not seem like the wanted my loved one to be a part of the community. We did not feel welcomed at all. They were not willing to accommodate us when we asked to tour on a weekend, nor did they get back to us when we called requesting information and updates. Overall, I was not impressed.

They five years ago was outstanding. I was once an applicant as I was leaving [Removed] a caregiver was impolite to a resident who asked for help. I thought maybe A better fit is a smaller community. I wonder if the aides know these people pay good money to live here it probably would flip her lid. Disrespectful

When my wife was in the Legacy, I was not comfortable with the level of care that she was receiving. They were very short staffed and they were not trained properly on how to handle situations. They would not approach residents in a calm way. During meal time, the staff would walk around and rush the residents.
