My husband and I moved to IL at Freedom Village during the pandemic. the staff was so helpful as we navigated the real estate difficulties and made our move easy and smooth. We love the activities - I am able to teach classes here as I did elsewhere. My husband played the piano in the atrium in the evenings for his pleasure and others. Recently when my husband had many medical issues, the staff was great- calling the ambulance, transitioning him from the hospital to rehab and ultimately skilled care. The staff could always report on his condition and they did everything to keep him engaged as his health declined. The entire staff spoke with my and my sons, answered all our concerns during this very difficult period and used our minds. We could never have managed this in our home, I am here, surrounded my friends and staff as I start this new chapter of my life. Best decision we ever made. .... Read more

So far things are going fine with this community. I have already joined the singing group and will be helping out in the library. I have great residents in my hallway. They offer a lot of social activities and trips out. The community is very clean and the food is not bad. I had a feeling this was the place for me when I toured it. I would recommend this community.

Our experience at Freedom Village has been postive from the first visit several months ago. Everyone we have interacted with has been friendly, professional and genuinely interested in helping our mother find the right place. We are looking forward to her move and settling into her new home.

I loved the apartments at Freedom Village. They are spacious and bright. They are in the middle of a big renovation project but still I had an instructive tour. This might be my first choice if it weren't farther than I want to be from my family in Newark, DE. There are several (5 I think) dining rooms that are smaller and more intimate than those in other CRCC's that I have seen.

A Place for Mom has scored Freedom Village at Brandywine, a CCRC 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
