Dorset Place Memory Care

Our loved one is missing clothes, primarily his shorts. They are not putting a mattress cover on his bed when they change his sheets. It took me a month to get PT set up. Overall it is much better than [facility removed] where the hospital sent him. Overall the aides are so friendly. I have been so stressed over this move. They have been so welcoming.

I would rate them a 5 all the way down. They did a good job all around and kept a clean facility with good people, food etc. Highly recommend

What our family likes the most about the Dorset Place is the staff. The staff members there really seem to care and the provide kindness and compassion to the residents. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

Shop around more. I was in a hurry to get him placed. We picked this community because. I felt it was cheaper.

Based on our experience so far with Dorset Place, our loved one loves the meals that are prepared and the cook there is so sweet. However there has been a recent mass staff turnover so we shall see what happens.

What we like most about Dorset Place is the friendliness of the staff members. With the activities there's a few things. Not a lot. They are memory care, so most of the folks are fairly limited. Based on your experience we would recommend this community to other families.

They are doing their job. There is sometimes a shortage in staff. The weekends are a bit slower, than during the week. My loved one is in memory care, and they are taking care of them. They are responsive with any issues, that we have had. Overall, I would recommend to other families.

Dorset Place is a really good community, one of the things we were worried about when visiting communities is noticing that "lingering odor" some may have. Dorset Place is not one of those communities, it is so fresh and clean. The entire layout is very welcoming and homey, it does not feel like a nursing home. It is such a comfortable place for the residents and their visitors. We are super grateful our grandmother is there, she is thriving and it gives our family peace of mind. The ladies all working there are amazing.

They were helpful as far as getting into the place and the staff were super friendly during the whole process. I do think they could improve on some things though. They have been short staffed so the care is sometimes not what it should be. I was surprised they did not have staff that would go around and check on the residents frequently. It seems like they have the hardest time finding people for the night shifts. I am hoping to see some improvements in the staffing but if not I may have to hire extra care to come in. They have hired a few people who are super caring and compassionate and they always know exactly how my loved one is and all the details about her day, I am very happy with them.

Across the board like all care centers currently they need much much more staff particularly in the memory care unit. During the days the care services are about a 4 out of 5 but during the nights its about a 1, that is where they struggle. The ladies there are trying their best but their is just not enough of them.

From the time we were able to go in and visit this community before COVID, it was very clean and the staff members are great, they really do love our mom. It is more expensive, however our loved one is currently on hospice and everything has been great. As far as we know the activities are good, they are always doing puzzles and coloring. When we first came the individual we met with really made my family and i very comfortable

Dorset Place is a smaller size community. It has a very friendly environment. It meets my parents' memory care needs. My parents like the food. We really like Dorset Place and my parents have been happy there.

the physical building is very airy, light and cheerful, great care is taken to provide socialization and sensory input. The interior court yard for when the weather's nice is a wonderful bonus. The rooms are generously sized, a high end touch is the crackling electric fireplace in the front lobby. Everything feels 'new'. friendly staff and residents was nice.

I did not like this location to place my loved one. As I was touring this facility we rather arrived unannounced at the wrong time and from what I have witnessed the staff here could be more accommodating. It seemed that there was not much concerned coming from them at all toward us or toward the current residents. I was trying to observe their memory care and I quickly decided not to place my loved one here.

Putting my mother in an assisted living was the hardest decision I have ever made. I had tremendous guilt. The leadership at Dorset Place lent me an ear and advice. Today, mom is in activities and still finds purpose in her days. The staff show patience in their approach and leadership holds the bar high on care. If you are looking for memory care, I encourage you to stop in and see what they have going on daily. I feel like I can be a daughter again, not a caretaker, and it is a great feeling.

I have no complaints of how things are going for my loved one since he has made the move into this community. The staff are really good at resolving any issues that there is going on throughout the building and taking care of the residents. My husband is eating well and has not lost any weight since he has been there so that tells me he likes the food. Overall things are going pleasant and we would recommend it to anyone.

My sister is in the best place that she could possibly be at this time of her life. I am close by to visit, always with a smile and greeting from the staff. Thank you for all you do.

My mother has been at Dorset Place Memory Care for about a year. I feel confident she receives the appropriate care in a professional and caring environment. She's safe and has the needed social interaction for her well-being. The food is very good and she is content. I feel very good about our decision to have mom at Dorset Place Memory Care.

My mother was in this facility before it became Dorset Place. For continuity of care, she has remained, and it has been a wise choice. The staff is kind, yet professional. I am kept well-informed. The meals are nutritious and flavorful, served in a restaurant-style dining area. There are always several staff members to assist with eating. Dorset has many activities for clients, yet the facility is calming. I appreciate the feeling of serenity, which with dementia patients is absolutely necessary. Dorset Place may be more costly than some other facilities, but I trust their care of my mother. The staff, from director to maintenance, are personable and reliable, and I have come to appreciate their dedication to my mother's well-being.
