The size of New Haven Assisted Living and Memory Care of Spring is small, so the residents feel like they are in a house/home more than a facility. [name removed] is very helpful in describing both of their locations and which would be a better fit based on personalities. It's nice to be able to go from Assisted Living to Memory Care without changing facilities. The staff is very nice and is always communicating to us. The Activities Director even sends us photos of what she is doing with my mother-in-law. The housekeeping is pretty good... hard to always keep up with bathroom cleaning at times. My mother-in-law likes the food, but we were hoping for more of a menu style. Although, they are in the process of redoing their meals to make them more dietary-friendly for diabetes, etc. I would recommend this facility for those looking for a lower activity level with Assisted Living, and those that don't want activities forced on the residents (I did see this at one place that I toured).... We are very pleased with New Haven of Spring. It is a small facility with only 16 residents. The staff seem to motivate the residents to get up and get involved in the many games and activities. She is always clean and up and dressed. We have a big family and visit often and at different times of the days and residents seem to be stimulated according to their abilities.

After an adjustment period, it was a good place overall. One of the issues I had was my loved one went in for a respite stay. Then he had a fall and ended becoming a permanent resident. There ended up being a disconnect between respite care and resident care - there was something missing in that transition. If you come in right away as a resident, you would have gotten more information on what their processes are. I think they assumed he and our family already knew all the ins and outs, when in fact we did not. The dining room was never utilized by the residents much. He was usually one of about five people who came down to meals , so it was kind of lonely. During the 9 months he was there, they went through three directors. But the caregivers there were really nice. They were friendly to everybody, which was nice to see. The activities director there is really good. He got to bring his own furniture, so it felt like home. The room was a nice size, and so was his bathroom.

I've shared quite a bit with others about New Haven and how attentive the staff was to my mom and also to others. We were there quite a bit and saw how staff interacted with residents, if someone needed something they would try and attend to them right away. The first thing we noticed and so did others when they visit, is everything smells clean and they're always on it. Whereas some places have a smell, there's nothing here. My mom got very good care there. If she didn't want to go to the dining room they brought her meals to her and they tried to include her. It's a nice place; it was small and that was something else I liked. I liked the residents as well, they were people who were like my mother. They were sill mobile, and they tried to interact; so she was able to communicate with a lot of the people. They were able to have that communication and build a relationship with each other. She also liked going out, they had a few outing and she wanted to be included. They would go to lunch at local restaurants and they sent pictures during events and activities. On Easter she took a picture with the Easter bunny, and they sent me a picture of that. One of their services included hair dressing and cuts, which was done by the activities director. There was good communication with staff, so if something happened they made sure to send me pics, like in the event of a haircut. I would recommend New Haven Assisted Living & Memory Care of Spring to others and matter of fact, I already have - even if it wasn't a good fit for those people.

This community wasn't as secure as another community we looked at.
It was good.

Our family is there visiting a couple times during the week and we really like the grounds, they are well kept and so is the facility itself. We like the smaller scale of the facility. Some of the activities include taking them out to different restaurants, bringing in country singers and different balloon activities. We like that we receive emails throughout the week showing pictures of different things going on which is nice to see. Based on our experience we would recommend this community to others.

I would tell others looking that the staff members really try to get to know their residents on a personal level. The room that he had was a very good size for what he needed. My loved one was only here for a short amount of time, but I would absolutely recommend New Haven to other families.

Good community, not the right fit for my loved one.
This is a smaller community - only about 17 residents per building. But its a big company - they have a lot of other locations. There is a large open kitchen in the common area and the food is quite good. My mom has been well cared for there and I'm sure she would not be doing as well in a large community. They have been very helpful with the hardships caused by the quarantine. I would recommend them.

Very Clean facility. Memory Care allowed my Uncle to be taken care of at the maximum care level. [Name removed] the nurse is very thorough and personable, she answered my questions and concerns quickly to give me peace about the decision to move my Uncle into the location. Impressive food selection with a restaurant style menu

My husband is a resident at the Spring community, in assisted living. Since the arrival of a new executive director, [name removed], amazing improvements have taken place. [Name removed] is in touch with the families of residents regularly, via email, posting upcoming activities. A wonderful feeling of family and community is present at New Haven. The residents attended a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration and, again, a feeling of togetherness and family was present and obvious. The residents and their families witnessed numerous turn-overs in the first six months; now, finally, stability has arrived at New Haven. Kudos New Haven! I recommend this community.

It is the best memory care I have found for my Mom. It is new so they are still working out employees & policies. Workers are very nice. Buildings & rooms are very nice. Food is very good.
