June 3, 2022Faye Drennan, thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at The Village at Gleannloch Farms! Thank you, and have a fantastic day!
When my husband and I decided to downsize we visited numerous facilites. CCRC's were hard to find in southeast Texas. We felt it was a blessing when we became aware of The Village at Gleannloch Farms. We used most of our savings to "buy in" and were blessed again by avoiding the 2008 downturn of the stock market. Living at VGF is a rewarding experience and a blessing everyday. We are free of the problems of owning and maintaining a home. Even better - we don't have to cook.

This is a wonderful place. The staff and family communication has been really good. They were able to handle medication management, hygiene, bathing and dressing assistance for my loved one as some of the care provided by the community. They do offer continuing care so a resident can move into Independent living and move to assisted living or memory care as needed.

We had a good tour with The Village. It seems like a very well maintained facility, but the social atmosphere was not the right fit for my loved one.

We had a very positive tour experience. The residents seemed very happy, and the staff was very friendly. Ultimately we chose other community that had a little bit nicer apartments with a more consistent layout, in a location that worked better for our family.

December 13, 2021Kirsten, we are so happy to read such a great review about The Village at Gleannloch Farms!
If you are doing research for a place to call home for yourself or loved one(s) look no more. The Village at Gleannloch Farms is a great place to spend the rest of your life but it is by no means a place to "retire " as the activity staff will keep you busy from doing daily life enrichment activities in the Memory care unit , to going on cruises in Independent living ,Skilled nursing residents loved that they can get their first trip to the beauty salon free while Assisted living residents look forward to outings such as local restaurants, movies and museums

Nice warm personal feel. Very clean and friendly with at least 2 activities scheduled per day. The base fee does not include the distribution of meds or the laundry. Only concern is the size of the closet space in the apartments.

I'm not sold on this place. My Dad is in the skilled nursing unit. Most of the CNA's in this unit are very rude. [name removed] is one of them. When you ask them for something, they tell you they dont have time. They walk in with a scowl on their face and not pleasant to deal with. At 4 am, two CNA's come in, flip on lights without warning to change your loved one. They cut up, laugh loud, and gossip about other employees. When you complain to the supervisor [name removed], that's if you get to talk to her, you're not taken seriously and the CNA doesn't get told anything. It's all smoke and mirrors, the staff isn't any better than other places. There's more to tell, I just dont have the time to tell. Just know that when your loved one is admitted to skilled nursing, please physically check on them daily and be prepared for neglect of your loved ones and putting up with rude staff cause they dont think twice about being sassy or giving dirty looks.

I LOVE living at the Village at Gleannloch Farms! I am SO grateful to [Name removed] for finding it for me. I had used A Place for Mom ten years ago when looking for a place for MY mom and I was SO happy with the experience. So when my husband and I started having serious health issues I placed a call to A Place For Mom with no hesitation! The call was picked up by an incredible advisor, [Name removed]! :-) She listened so carefully and started to work on the perfect place for us. The place she found was beyond my greatest expectations and although it was fairly close to where we lived I would never have found it on my own. [Name removed] was always a quick phone call or email away as I went through the process that lead to finding The Village at Gleannloch Farms and the subsequent move-in. VGF has all levels of care which was very important to me. It even has independent living cottages which are really beautiful and have lawns (maintained by the facility), garages, a place for flower beds, etc. We settled on a two bedroom apartment in independent living. Many of the residents have lived here since it opened 10 years ago. All residents are happy, friendly, and caring. The administration and staff are incredible! They are caring, involved in the every day life of the residents, and always ready to listen. There are many activities such as outings, card games and other types of games. I love that there are jigsaw puzzles all over the building. In my current situation it is hard to plan ahead to take part in the organized activities but I love doing the jigsaw puzzles. The residents are very involved with day to day activities, doing what they love. Some garden, some help with decorating the facility, some help with arranging flowers for the chapel and the tables in the dining room, some serve on resident advisory councils, etc, etc, etc. Some (like me) are not able to do any of these activities right now and that is fine too! Everyone is accepted and loved. They have a program called "Personalized Living" which offers transportation to appointments, etc,, caregivers if needed at any level, pet sitting if needed, etc. The food is delicious! My grandchildren are able to spend the night or weekend just as if I still lived in my previous home. My family visits often and is able to join me in the dining room for meals. AND, maybe the very best thing of all - I was able to bring my two cats! Thank you [Name removed] and A Place for Mom - you are amazing!

Very friendly, clean, happy clients, great menu, but no fenced in place for our dog. Lots of things going on. No trees, not close to our doctors/hospitals. We need to work with our sons to determine what we can afford, but the rooms were small, some not room enough for my sewing machine.

I like to recommend A Place For Mom, the educated me and me when searching for my parent. The advisor told me about many communities and she was great. This community was very nice. It was really large and more further away from us. It was gated with very nice staff.

We had a nice tour of this community. The staff was kind, and friendly. The community looked nice, everything was well kept. The atmosphere of the community was very mellow. It was quite as active as I would had liked. My father wanted a more "hopping" community.

This was a nice tour. The staff was nice and one thing was that they had a down payment that would not work for us. They would allow you to live there longer than financial needs would . would allow. We would recommend families to tour this nice community for the care of a loved one's needs.

Out of all the tours my loved one and I had taken this one of our top choices. The community was beautiful and the apartments where very spacious with lots of great amenities. They had lots of great activities available and offered different events throughout the week. It was just very much out of there price range and too expensive.

Over all a very nice community. Lovely people living and creating a beautiful neighborhood. It is approximately 8 years old and in that time however the quality of services has changed. The dining experiences started almost gourmet but has declined. This is after constant turnover of staff and food services. Presently at a very mediocre level and disappointing for the monthly fees chaged. The turn over of directors and staff is concerning and is not reassuring that things are improving . The most difficult area in the living system is the health center. The staff is extremely good hearted but clearly they do not have the staff to give quality care. It has always been on a skeletal staff. They don't pay the caregivers enough to give them an incentive to improve. Seems to be little oversight to correct these problems. AIDS stand around and wait until someone does their work. Morale is low so patient care suffers. I am very reluctant to use their health care again
