Minimal "issues" overall. Of course everyone/every place should never rest on their laurels. We are never perfect. So we should strive to always improve. I liked that they did Teepa Snow dementia training with staff! The management was very sensitive to our situation. And they were financially accommodating-working within our specific constraints. They continue to be good to work with!!... Read more

Everybody has been great there at Elmcroft of Chesterfield. Dad's sense of time is somewhat displaced, and they tend to be a little late with their meals, so he tends to be overly dramatic about that. But the food is good, the staff is great.

Overall I think Elmcroft of Chesterfield has done an excellent job so far. The staff are very friendly, and the facility itself is bright, clean, and has a warm family atmosphere. I also thought the food was excellent, but according to my loved one it has declined somewhat since she moved in.

We used Elmcroft for a brief respite stay for my loved one, and overall I thought they did a good job in terms of care and what they provided. The facility itself was nice looking and clean, and the staff were friendly and caring. There was some confusion with the billing that left a sour taste in my mouth, and we ended up being charged for 3 days rather than 2, so I think they could do a better job explaining that.

Elmcroft was a little more expensive than some of the others we were looking at. I did like the layout, being all on one floor. I also liked that they had a nice courtyard area, giving the residents a chance to walk around outside. It was also a little too far away for us, but really nice.

Elmcroft was an excellent choice for my parents. You can not find a more loving staff. It broke my heart when I realized I could not afford to keep them there for the rest of their life (since they do not accept Medicaid). I moved my parents to Lucy Corr (which has been a good experience for my dad, my mom passed away 2 months after their move). If I had the money we would have remained at Emcroft.

I did like this very much and had a lot of trouble deciding between this one and the other one that I chose. I liked the staff a lot and they really cared about the residents. This was a little further away (not that much) and cost just a little more. Tough decision. It was nice and bright.

Sara very helpful. People friendly, residents seem content. Cleanliness average +. Dining room, lobby and rooms have minimal natural light. Rooms small. Staff friendly. Limited area outside for walking. Pretty good activities. Bus transportation on Wednesdays.

I liked that facility a lot, I liked that the people seemed well cared for, it was clean, the staff seemed very active with the patients there. The rooms were clean and I liked the all inclusive thing instead of nickling and diming you for every little thing. It was all included in one price, I did like them.

I toured this for my father, I was looking at locked units. The only reason I didn't go with this was that they had a small lockdown facility, wasn't very large and that was a factor. I thought it would be good for him to have more social interaction.

I visited this one by accident and it was kind of depressing. The residents looked kind of catatonic, it was an assisted living plus PLUS if I were to label it. It's for people with more needs, they have on staff nurses but I think that's when people are a little too far gone, where they can't bathe themselves or they get lost.

I had a very nice visit with Luann and Sara. I can see that Elmcroft is a very caring community and may be a good possibility in the future. Luann is such a caring person and I think this reflects throughout. It was nice to see some of the Morningside staff. At Luann's suggestion, I am going to request a care meeting with the staff at Spring Arbor for my mother.

A Place for Mom has scored Commonwealth Senior Living of Bon Air 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
