There is a lack of consistent communication. The floor needs sweeping and mopping...we brought our own supplies to clean toilet . Everyone there is very sweet but due to the staffing shortage there are very few activities. My mom is in Memory Care .. she was moved from Assisted Living after 1 week. I recommend the AL for those that are self sufficient.. unfortunately everywhere seems to be understaffed and stretched pretty thin

September 3, 2024We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and are sorry to hear we are not meeting all of your expectations. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss with you further and encourage you to reach out to our local management team.
Very understaffed, which resulted in multiple disappointing experiences: room vacuumed 2x in 6 months; waited hours for scheduled shower help multiple times, had to locate med tech for failure to deliver nighttime meds. Bugs, including spiders, in the bed and closet. Tasteless food delivered cold. Woefully inadequate staff. No maintenance man, then when hired he works overtime in the understaffed dining room. Moved out after 6 months.

August 9, 2024We are sorry to hear we did not meet your expectations and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. The health and well-being of our residents is our top priority and we have shared your concerns with our management team for review.
Staff are very friendly and do a great job planning activities for the residents. The facility was great a couple years ago. Unfortunately there has been a lot of turnover over the last year. The new ED is working hard to turn things around.

I would say it has been overall a very positive experience for my uncle and I would choose it again after him being there for a few months now.

There are too many contact people. We're constantly getting another name and #. Each shift has a different contact person and different contact people for nursing, aides, activities etc. My nephew is always updating me with another name. He finds it not too much of a problem because he visits several times times a week.

At this time8m very very upset with them. Got my sister's things out left some things outside by the door came back in 20 minutes, an antique chair was missing. Brand new lazy bot recliner still there but the chair was missing. I would not recommend Brookdale Midlothian to my worst enemy. Pick up the mattress pee and poop stains. I provided a waterproof mattress pad and chucks. They are horrible and very very over priced. While I was there the health dept came. Nobody was at the front desk and they weren't happy.

My biggest concerns were move in process. I don't think there was enough time spent with the residents or family members. Also not always clear who I should call. The people attending to residents in memory care do seem to really care about residents. Based off of our experience, I would recommend Brookdale Midlothian to others looking.

Just the feeling that we got that it would be a good fit for my mom. I'd say that my mom is very happy to be there and they are taking great care of her.

We rated the care services a 3 only because her medical care is not well communicated. When requesting for her to see the Doctor for an issue I never get a follow up from the appointment and I don't even know if she has been seen or when. Day to day I believe her care is good.

We took a tour of Brookdale Midlothian when searching for a facility for our loved one. We had a great tour. Our tour guide and the atmosphere were good. The cleanliness and friendliness of the facility were great. It ultimately came down to cost and location for us when choosing a facility.
The reason we gave the care services a 4 due to the part to her being in wrong type of care. My sister was placed in independent living which does not have adequate staff to handle a dementia diagnosed. A better fit would have been memory care where she was moved to today. We had all hoped she could function well in independent living, but that was not the case. Going in we knew it was higher than others, but its atmosphere and friendliness of staff made us choose Brookdale over others.

The weekends do not have main staff members available. I asked who the manager in charge was and the receptionist said it was her.

The staff at Brookdale Midlothian is attentive, caring, and compassionate. They went out of their way to help my grandmother feel welcome, which has helped her during her adjustment period. Meals are incredible, and much thought is put into the daily activities planned. It truly has a home-like atmosphere.

My wife is there and she has been taken good care of and I very pleased with the way she is being treated by the staff.
What sticks out most about Brookdale Midlothian is that the staff is responsive to us when we reach out to them with questions etc. They have been been accommodating and helpful in making the adjustment to assisted living easier for our family member.

We liked the community. The only drawback was this community had a combined memory care and assisted living.
Our family had an in person tour and it was a really great tour experience
We had a very nice tour experience with Brookdale Midlothian and almost went with this facility. There was some miscommunication with the pricing and we had gotten a price without the care added in there. Once it was added it was very expensive. They were also rating my loved one as needing a higher level of care than all of the other places that we were looking into which I found odd.
Our experience has been very positive so far, right now the dining service and activities are limited due to the staffing shortages but we do know they are doing their absolute best given the circumstances and they are so friendly and attentive.
