June 20, 2024Hello! Thank you so much for sharing. We're thrilled your mom has found a group of friends and is having fun. Please let us know if we can offer any additional help! - Cogir of Vancouver
Cogir they didn't have enough help, so they would put them in the large dining area to be able to watch them all. They said they had share rooms. When I asked for a private they said it would be [amount removed] more a month. They said she could order food from the dining room and they never brought her a menu. Last thing that happened is she fell at Cogir and they sent her to the hospital, no phone call to us and she was there 4 hours in the hall. Not sure if it was that sight or all of them.

Our family had an in person tour with the Cogir of Vancouver community and I didn't like that the front door is unlocked. The area for memory care was very ugly not warm. Looked like an insane asylum

March 7, 2023Hi, we appreciate your feedback. Security and comfort are our top priorities, and we are disheartened to hear you did not experience these during your tour of our community. Our team would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this further. Please give us a call at your earliest convenience. Thank you and have a nice day.
I wouldn't recommend this community to others for their loved ones. During the tour it sounded great, and there were promises made and the promises weren't fulfilled after moving in. There was a time that my loved one fell and the community didn't contact the family about this or about sending our loved one to the hospital. There was no staff that was with my loved one in the hospital from the community either. The aides were so nice to work with. The management was horrible to work with though. They told us that my loved one couldn't have a phone in their room, come to find out our loved one could have had a phone in their room during their stay. The time that my loved one was moving in, there was no one there to greet us or give us the instructions on what we need to do. They also said that we would have to feed our loved one, instead of having an aide assist our loved one. Due to our poor experience with the management team we pulled our loved one out after a short stay. One of the social activities the community had the residents participate in was sorting buttons. This wasn't enjoyable for our loved one.

Cogir of Vancouver Senior Living is wonderful. For me and my experience with my mom, it's been everything we were looking for. She's well taken care of, they pay attention to her, it's clean, and they help her when necessary. They make sure to call and keep me abreast with things.

The tour was very informative. We got more of an institutional feeling from this facility and we were looking for something more warm and comfortable. It was also too large and had a lot of residents.

This community was fine there was just another community that caught my loved ones attention. This community was nice just wasn't for our loved one.
We chose Cogir of Vancouver because the price was good and they had availability at the time we needed it. The apartment sizes are great for what he needs. He really enjoys the food that they serve. The cleanliness of the facility is great and the people are wonderful, they are always willing to help out. I would recommend to others looking

My wife and I have experienced both independent and assisted living here, all without changing apartments. In eight years, we have seen four different owners. Cogir is the best, by far. They have changed the atmosphere of the place for better. They invested hundreds of thousand dollars in carpets, hardwood flooring, appliances, theatre upgrade and appearance of public areas and apartments, all while holding rent increases to less than 4% per year Residents enjoy excellent meals with anytime breakfast and dining, friendly order taking and serving, choice of FIVE daily entrees, and numerous drink choices. No extra food charges. Take-home containers freely available. Happy Hour twice weekly with drinks, snacks and quality entertainment. With less than a hundred residents, it is easily possible to make friends and see one another almost daily. Staff is relatively stable, skilled and caring with a conscious effort to know you by name and learn your special needs. Highly Recommended.

I would highly recommend the community to others for their loved ones. It is a pretty, clean, and updated community. The staff are wonderful. I feel great with the security. It is kept up beautifully. The food is some of the best I've ever had. The one improvement the community could improve on, is offering an ambassador to assist new residents.

I would tell others I was so in love with the community. It is very pretty here, the flowers are in bloom. I’m happy with the food. The people here are very, very nice. They have cottages and a tower. The cottages feels like you are in your own home. The cottages are 1500 square feet. Housekeeping is included, however, they don't clean the blinds. Some of the residents have hired outside cleaning agencies to keep their cottages clean.

My advice to others isn't specific to Cogir at all, but I would just say consider everything before you go down a certain path. I'm not sure I would do things the same way again now as when we first decided. I have two loved ones with very different health needs. One is in pretty bad shape, and the other doesn't really need any care. And looking back, we would have pursued a different avenue for them to be together since she's very unhappy being in a facility. It's nothing to do with Cogir itself or the staff. She just doesn't want her husband to die there and wishes they could both go back home. I think overall Cogir has been fine. The staff have been very helpful. The sales manager spent a lot of time with me and was very helpful in the move-in process. I would say read carefully what you're signing, especially regarding costs. And realize that costs can increase when care needs change. I understand that they're a business. And I suppose even if we had known certain details up front, we still would have signed the contract. I have no reason to believe what they're doing is different from any other place. I think they have good owners and genuinely want to provide good service.

The community is very clean and they have really kept the community clean to combat covid. The food is very good and we are able to eat with our loved one in her room. They have started activities back up and they have a list of activities daily. They have multiple levels of care so they offer independent, assisted, and memory care. I like the layout of the community and we like the safety of the community also. I would recommend this community to others.
