For pricing & availability
I have to say that the response we received from A Place For Mom was amazing. You all did a great job of matching us with facilities that had rooms available in our price range. We chose this community primarily based on the room available at a perfect price point. I would say it has been a great experience. The staff have all been attentive and friendly. They go out of their way to include residents in activities, and the residents all seem friendly as well. Not very often does [name removed] eat alone. The place is well maintained and clean.... For the ones with a 1 I would really give them a -10 I moved my Mom after 4 months and many many issues. They are way under staffed. The food was awful tasting and when it was served it was cold. Sometimes the residents would wait an hour to get served or in my Moms case they forget several times to go get her and bring her to the dining room to eat. Isn't that what assisted living is all about....giving assistance. Her call button necklace didn't work most of the time and she fell and laid there for a 1/2 hr. Before they found her. She was bleeding and it got on the carpet. They said it would be cleaned but when we moved in march it still had not been cleaned. She fell on January 2nd. They also raised our rent by almost [amount removed] and couldn't tell me why. After I pushed for a month and they wanted to close their books but I wouldn't pay they figured out they didn't check a box.....it was the cost for getting my Mom who is in a wheelchair to the dining room. Again isn't that part of assisted living and the [amount removed] we were already paying! I had to tell them how much they owed us because they didn't tell us first it was raising. They couldn't even figure it out. When I'm asked about a reference I always tell people do not go to Bonaventure. After several discussions with the director and many emails outlining the problems with no resolutions, I found a much better place for my Mom and they actually take care of her and make her a priority.

My mom absolutely LOVES Bonaventure! It is just the perfect place! What our family likes the most about the Bonaventure of Gresham community, is the personal attention she gets and the best of all they were able to write her card plan so she was able to get her long term care insurance!!

When we toured the Bonaventure of Gresham community the food was really good, but since it has gone downhill due to the employee turnover in the dining room. There is just a turnover in the dining room.

I would recommend to others most definitely. They do not seem to a high rate of turnover with staff with I like...helps with people with my mom with memory issues. Nice to see same faces and names. They are clean and have friendly staff and care services. Meals are good. I think they have good activities although my mom doesn't participate in them. Value for cost is hard for me to rate because they are all inordinately expensive in my personal opinion but I would say comparing to others they are good.

My experience is based on the memory care side. They give a very good tour, I will say that. The tour made me think we'd found the right place. Somehow they even managed to make the place not stink like pee when we were touring. Until we moved in and I saw what it was actually like. They claim to be fully staffed but that has not been my experience. Maybe they have enough staff that are on payroll, but that does not mean they're appropriately staffed on the floor for every shift. It takes forever for them to respond to the call buttons, which when I had my tour I asked about that and they told me they had a 2.5 minute response time. I have to help them change/dress my family member every time it's needed because she needs 2 people to do that and they never have 2 people available. But honestly I prefer to be the one to help because the staff seems to have very little training before being left on their own. We're paying a lot for all of the "extras" they say they do but I'm not seeing any of that. They're supposed to be feeding her because she's not able to feed herself but most of the caregivers don't. She's been there almost 3 months and I don't think they've ever maintained her finger nails/toe nails. Stuff goes missing out of her room because other residents take things and I never get them back. I have brought my concerns up to management and have not seen any of the improvements they promised.

As with everywhere they are short staffed. It can be challenging when it comes to assisted living and not getting the care in a timely manner. Quite a bit of turnover. The residents are wonderful and the place is beautiful. They do a good job at trying to keep it neat and clean.

There have been issues with many different things that management did work with us on. The last one was a financial issue that took a month to correct and they were not responsive. The aides are wonderful and treated my loved one very well. I'm not sure I would recommend them unless the resident was fully able to care for themselves.

They have mishandled serious situations. Very disappointed. Meals delivered hours late. Try 8:00pm. The time is different everyday. Not acceptable. Took 2 weeks to get med orders figured out by BV. Meanwhile my loved one did not have her blood pressure medicine for that duration from the day she moved in. They left her half undressed on night one. Left and said they would return soon. Hours later they returned. I know it's difficult to get good help but some of the issues were administrative. After my loved one fell they never contacted family. My Mom has poor hearing and didn't know what they said except that she asked staff call my brother. That should be routine for anyone who fell We never got a call and found out 2 days later. No staff or nurse examined her body after fall. The list goes on.

Bonaventure was very beautiful, definitely a luxurious place. The tour was great and the food that they serve here is gourmet. It was just not going to be the best fit for our loved one.
It is a very sad state of affairs when Bonaventure of Gresham cares more about money than the residents. They are understaffed and the facility is dirty because of it. Residents are neglected. Complaints go unresolved. The staff is awesome and doing their best but "corporate" is only concerned with the almighty dollar and making a profit. It is unforgivable and down right disgusting.

Long story short my mother moved in when they opened and just was able to move out. The GM did not refund a security deposit, did not bill us partial rent when he rened it when we moved out, and did charge us rent after we moved out. He also held up our movers at the front door to make the move 4 x expensive.. and thats all just on the way out... The staff turns over every week as they dont pay enough and those that are there are often times in training even though we were told we had nursing staff to help in assisted living. The food was sooo bad we had to cook my mothers food and bring it to her as they required us to pay for food option when we moved from independant to assisted. The GM that is there now came back after several years as everyone else quit and he is continuing to run the place without the concern you would hope he would have for all those he is reposnsible for.. most all the things he promised us when we moved in proved to be false or only offered for a month or two and then changed. The main company has continually looked at it as a profit center vs a care center and as a result pays sooo low half the people there were not in a care position before coming to work there and even then.. even then the pay and treatment is soo bad they move on quickly leaving seniors not knowing who is coming to provide the "services" they think they are getting.. truly any place in Gresham is better than this one.. run away dont walk.
