Brookdale Monument Valley has been a really good experience so far, the staff are very friendly and communicative. We do not have any feedback on the meals and dining service as of right now, but the activities and everything we have seen with the activities is very positive. It is a well priced community and we would recommend them to other families.

This community was dirty and I watched the residents wandering lost and not enough staffing.

We chose Brookdale Monument Valley Park because of the staff, they seemed really involved, friendly, and helpful. There have been a couple glitches but they have handled everything very well. they always have time to talk when I call and they address my concerns. He is not crazy about the food, they have a lot of people to serve so it is more cafeteria style which is not what he is used to. I do like that it is a smaller facility and the location is great. They have been very accommodating. I would recommend to others who are looking.

We have a winner!!! Ratio is 3 to 1. Small facility that is inside an historic home. Memory care is on bottom floor with access to a small courtyard. They have 16 residents now with a max of 18. Cost is $5400/ mo plus evaluated care (usually around $1500, ours would be about $3700/mo) Community fee is $2k. Rooms on smaller side but have room for a queen bed and dressers, couch or recliner and table. Showers are 2/wk included. Unlimited showers are extra. They train with Teepa Snow instructions and have monthly zoom support/training with families. Dr. on staff 5 days a week. Can do activities with AL residents (40ish) upstairs. Staff has been there for a long time, in general. Sales = 3 years, ED is new but came from Mackenzie Place, Janitor = 18 yrs, Activity Dir = 5 yrs? Mini fridge and sink provided Dr can order PT or OT as needed. or PRN for headaches, etc.

We were at a different Brookdale that was an entirely different experience. The main differences are in size and philosophy. Brookdale Monument Valley Park is a much smaller facility. The great thing is the residents are brought out of their rooms to be engaged in a lot of activities. Sometimes my friend doesn't want to go, but they cajole her into going and then she loves it. They really do try to get the residents up and out of their rooms and active as much as possible. The food is surprisingly excellent. It's fresh, with a lot of variety. The soups are especially excellent. They have fresh salads, and really lovely done main dishes. The chef on staff really pays attention to detail. The staff know everyone by first name, and you always see people out of their rooms walking around. There's music, and always some type of activity going on, and little dogs walking around that everybody knows. It's just a very warm, friendly, active community. Something that was important in our search for a community was ability to care for insulin-dependent diabetics. In Colorado, there are some very strict rules requiring 24-hour nursing. And because of that, not many assisted living facilities are able to take on residents with that condition, unless it's just a once-a-day shot situation. But we were fortunate to work with an independent healthcare service that was able to transition my friend from insulin to a different type of medication so she could move in here, where I think she's really going to thrive.
We chose Brookdale Monument because of the value for the money and I think overall if I had to choose again, I would still choose Brookdale. I think that the rooms here are good size, the bathrooms are huge and wheelchair /walker accessible, but I do wish the shower were a little bigger. They do seem to be a little understaffed and occasionally they do not get to the laundry or cleaning on the day that they say they will, but if I bring it up or ever have any issues, it gets taken care of quickly. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

I would tell others that the emergency cords in the rooms do not work, she buzzes for people to help her and it takes an hour and a half for people to come. She needs help to get to the toilet and it takes that long for them to come and go back to bed. Since covid, meals are being delivered and they forget to give her parts of her meal and silverware. Sometimes they even forget to bring her meal altogether, when she calls they say the kitchen is closed and so we are having to send boxes of food to her. We are having to micro-manage everything from Texas. They seem to have very bad communication issues between management and staff. Overall, it has not been a good experience, she is not happy here.

I think this community does really good at caring for the residents. Sometimes the care isn't as good. There was a time, that I went to visit my loved one and he had run out of oxygen for his condition. This happened a few times. In the past they took residents on rides through the mountains and to get ice cream. There were other activities they offered, prior to COVID.

My dad’s room is the perfect size for him. I don't think for the price I could find anything better. There is a park right there. It is convenient to the interstate and downtown area. It is a great location. I found Brookdale at the perfect time for my dad. He loves the caregivers. They have a great hospice program.

We have visited several facilities the decision is going to be very hard. I really liked this facility too. The units are smaller, but they would be fine for my husband. The price seems reasonable. Not sure what the final cost will be after the care costs are going to be which will be the deciding factor.

This is a nice community for care. The staff was willing to asst me in the questions that we had on the care that is offered. We liked the cleanliness and the menu of the healthy meals. The activities are helpful for those who are will to participate. We wanted a different room for mom. We would suggest that families tour this community for care

This facility is absolutely wonderful! It is very clean, and the staff take great care of my loved one! The food is also quite good. I have also found that he has been feeling more like himself again since he has started to participate in more activities from time to time. We are very pleased with this facility!

My parents are happy to be apart of a good community. We have no complaints with the care or experience. The staff get my parents involved with activities and take them on scenic drives or shopping with the residents. The apartment my parent have is spacious with a nice view from their window. I liked that all the Brookdale's work together to find a good fit within their Brookdale properties.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Monument Valley Park 9.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
