I really like the ability for my mom to be transferred if needed to a higher level of care. I like the options of medical care as needed. I like that Brookdale is monitoring her care but not micromanaging it unless requested to! I do feel as though there are too many different calendars of events within the organization. It confuses the residents.

We are happy with medical care through Bloom Health, and the overall experience. However, I am concerned about the food programs, reduction in activities, and the fact we have had two major rate increases in two years. Short staffing, major personnel changes in senior staff, and increased costs are given as the reasons this is happening. Store trips have been shortened in frequency per month as well as time given for shopping. Our mother has trouble getting what she needs in a short time and still catch her ride home. Her mobility will only get worse in time.

Since my son had moved to Colorado and I have other family here I decided to move to Brookdale Skyline and so far I love it. It has so much more to offer and it is beautiful. I have only been here about 2 and a half months but like in spite of the size!!!

I'd rate it a 2 because it takes months for any maintenance requests taken care of. Months! They needed a shower bar installed, heater fixed and a key for their garage door. The staff is nice but they don't respond back to messages or requests. I would recommend, but just be aware of the maintenence issues.

This place looks good from the outside, but they are understaffed for the size. My dad fell six times in three weeks, three of which required ambulance transport to the hospital. One fractured arm and a head injury later, we moved him, This place is lucky to have two people on site at any given time that is just not enough. Go somewhere else.

Best apartment layouts for both IL and AL in the city. Feels less like AL or nursing home than any other facility. Caring, "work with you" staff.

We chose this facility because of the military discount. They also provide all levels of care. The kitchen staff seems to be short handed. Overall it is a positive experience. I would recommend Brookdale Skyline.

Overall, the experience for my loved one here has been great so far. My only concern is the expense. It would be good if they gave some credit for Medicaid.
Have been here 5 years. Feels like home.

All 5's ! We haven't moved in yet but we are planning to be there on [date removed]. We liked the fact that they had a little cottage available at the time we were looking! We had been on a waiting list in Pueblo, but we were delighted to find one available now. And the marketers that we talked to are very positive about diversity. We have lots of gay friends and wanted to be sure that that would not be a problem. We would be happier if there were more racial diversity, but income levels probably preclude that.

The building is nice and the residents are very kind but getting any help for your loved one is almost impossible and they are way over priced. My loved one yelled for help for over a half hour until someone showed up. My loved one picked this place. She liked the layout of the apartment and the look of the facility.

This is the only facility in Colorado Springs that offers all 4 levels of care. Independent living has about 200 apartments, Assisted living, memory care, and rehabilitation and nursing care. There is move along progression as needed I will also note that they give discounts to military!!! I would recommend Brookdale Skyline.

The staff are friendly but they tell you yes with no interaction of follow through and the staff has a high turnover. After three months we still can't get a weekly caregivers schedule. We pay for 14 hours a day for private caregiving care, but we can't get a schedule in a timely manner. When it comes to the meals and dining service they don't follow instructions, the doctor told the kitchen staff that my dad needs his food cut up. They do not do it.

We had a very positive tour experience with Brookdale Skyline. The facility was bigger and had more residents. WE decided to go with a smaller facility that seemed to have a better staff to resident ratio, that was better for our loved one and their care needs.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Skyline 9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
