This place is good, it has a good atmosphere and we're very happy with it. Cleanliness is very good. Communication with the family is good. I would recommend them to friends and family.

I had an excellent tour experience with Brookdale Skyline, they were our runner up. I think this would be a really nice place for anybody's loved one to stay. The only reason we went with another facility was because they were willing to waive the community fee.
I was impressed from the very beginning with the staff. They are taking care of mom's needs quickly. I live 300 miles away, so communicating is key. They always respond to my questions even when I know they are very busy. I am impressed with the staff at Bloom as well. Love the house calls.

My mom is absolutely loving it at Brookdale Skyline. Her apartment is so adorable and she loves to sit out on her balcony and look at the mountains and trees. They have a huge, extremely nice outdoor space. She is so happy here and has made a lot of new friends. She has regained a sense of youth since moving to Brookdale.
We understand that this is the way that it is for a lot of places. You may be getting a little less value for the money; however, there are places that are more expensive. There is a shortage of staff and the community is huge. I would caution you to not anticipate white glove or high touch service for your loved one here.

Response from Brookdale Skyline
August 30, 2022We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and are sorry to hear we are not meeting all of your expectations. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss with you further and encourage you to reach out to our local management team.
We had a little bit of of rough start. We went into a room that was not handicap accessible and it took a month to get her to a handicap accessible room. With her diagnosis she is having a harder time. They are great at getting extra help that she needs in there. They are really quick about trying to solve any issues that may arise. One thing I would say is you definitely have to stay on them and be an advocate for your loved one. Overall I would recommend them to others, especially for those who need independent or assisted living. They do have wonderful facility and the campus is beautiful. I am not sure they know too much about my loved ones disease though which has made it a little harder for us.

May 26, 2022Thank you for choosing Brookdale and taking the time to share your feedback. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have and encourage you to contact our management team.
This community was my first choice but I felt like there were too many people and too far away for everything. It was very nice but in my case and my medical problems that I have I knew it would not work due to size and convenience.
We were able to tour the Brookdale Skyline and it was a very very nice tour, the community itself is just beautiful. The apartments were so lovely, and they offered a meal service. The reason we did not choose Brookdale is because its to far out of town and we still very much like to drive around and socialize, however if you are one that would rather stick around the facility and enjoy their meal service this is the place for you.
I would never recommend this facility, do not waste your time or money. It was a terrible experience. They are not interested in the residents that are here and are not helpful. The facility is spread out and my husband would get confused, they do not have any signs or arrows to help you find your way, when he asked for directions the staff told him they were not paid to give directions. My husband is an avid walker and they have roads all the way around the facility. When he would go walk they called it wandering and strongly discouraged that. I got a call one day that he had a fever and was disoriented and they told me I needed to come get him. I took him to the hospital and his temp was 97, I took him back and told them he was fine and they could care less. I was told his care plan needed to be changed due to his "disorientation", they were trying to push us to memory care but they could not explain why. His room here constantly smelled and their definition of cleaning was emptying the trash. When I made complaints no one ever called me back. They do give you a really good sales pitch, but none of that is how the facility actually is.

October 18, 2021We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and are sorry to hear you feel this way. The safety and well-being of our residents is our top priority and we will share your concerns with our management team for review.
They have had some issues getting help. The help that does the cleaning don't seem to come to work. I am looking to transfer my father at this time. There is one nurse for two floors so there is not a lot of help, they do the best. I do feel like this is too expensive for how much that they charge and the services provided . They don't have enough help to take care of everyone. I spoke with both of the directors and there were a lot of promises in the beginning and now they are not being carried out, it only lasted for 2 weeks.

The cottages were a perfect fit for my mom. She’s very concerned about the price difference from where she is now but it was perfect. Kind of far but beautiful.

The selection of staff was excellent. However, the facility was greatly understaffed. My freind had a lot of health issues, and we paid extra for additional help, but we didn't get that help promptly. So it would be a great place if you were fairly independent and just needed a little bit of help. But not such a good place for someone with more health issues and needs like diabetes or someone who needed help walking. Outer common areas were very clean, no smells or anything, but we had some problems with teh lceaning staff keeping my freind's apartment clean. The facility is fairly nice, and the staff are really freindly. Ther ejust aren't enough of them. Part of that might be related to the pandemic and having problems finding people to work, but we paid a premium for extra care. and felt like she wasn't getting the care we expected for that.

Know that you have to have the money. It's not cheap. They do charge, but they give you plenty for what they charge for. The building itself is marvelous. I hear practically no sounds ever. It's really quite a community here. They quality of anything I've experienced with them has been well above average. The food is a hard one. They're going to have meals that I enjoy, and they're going to have meals I don't particularly care for. But they do give you options. The meals tend to be well planned, but I tend to be a typical American eater and prefer things that may not be so good for me. Overall they really do a great job here. They have a lot of activities available, with lots of opportunities throughout the month. I'm just not as interested in them. The staff are pretty sharp. A whole lot of them call me by my first name when they see me. It's quite an organization - I've not experienced anything like this before living in standard rentals. They have help and support available for you here if you need it. I didn't realize some of the things that I needed that I'm getting here. I'm lucky to have found a good place, and I'm very happy here.

I've ran into some communication with the staff. If you are dealing with the VA don't take your loved one. There is a breakdown in communication between Brookdale and the VA. The room my loved one has has a sliding glass door. The community wouldn't allow the door outside to keep the room secure. In order to put the screen in

Skyline is well maintained - service requests are answered promptly, the grounds are well kept, and snow clearing is very good. The staff is great. They're hardworking, they greet me by name, and they're very responsive. I enjoy living here.

I chose Brookdale Skyline at the time because I was here 2 times for rehab and it was great. I figured it would be the same to live in but it wasn't. I do not think it is up to par, I don't think the staff care as much as they should and it was very expensive. I would not recommend to others.

The facility looks beautiful from the outside, but after the covid hit, they were not cleaning at all and it was very dirty. The staff was friendly if you could find them, but we could not get ahold of the staff, we had to call security to get them to call us back. The communication was not good at all. I would not recommend this community to others.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Skyline 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
