Definitely recommended

Friendly, helpful staff, "homey" environment and excellent nurses! There was often a breakdown of communication with the kitchen on my father's menu order. The facility had agreed he could have his meals in the room, but often times he didn't even have utensils, or it was paper plates and appeared to be leftover food, etc. This was really my only complaint which rectified every time I mentioned it. I just had to do it three or four times repeatedly. I would definitely recommend this place and give it a five star rating. The supreme complement is I would want to go there and be a resident myself someday if needed!

Our Experience

We chose Brookdale Monument Valley Park as we were told our Mom would be escorted to meals and Activities and, because she was in Assisted living, we looked forward to this. However, this never occurred and she wandered twice out of the facility and was luckily returned safely. This lack of care landed her in Memory Care for her safety. This was an okay place, but Activities were above anyone with Memory Care issues. We had to move her in and move all her belongings to Memory care and then after she passed we had to move all of her stuff out without any help. Housekeeping was less than stellar as we had to clean her room weekly. The food was fair, but I never had to eat it. The Staff caring for her were, for the most part, good with a few excellent staff. Any time we had a problem, the Administrative staff's response was to have a Care Conference which never solved anything. My Mom unfortunately declined over her stay at Brookdale, especially quickly the last month after they put her on Hospice but that situation is a whole other issue that I could write a novel on and not one for good reading. My Mom passed away outside of Brookdale thank goodness and to no help of theirs. Even after she passed the lack of communication continued. We went to pick up the remainder of her belongings after she had passed and when we went in the Front Desk asked us if we were there to pick her up for Lunch. Since she passed away, I was not sure how we would have completed that even though I wished we could have. My suggestions for any one considering Brookdale is to have things written down, be an Advocate for your loved one and be present as much as you can to keep on top of it all. I wished the experience would have been more positive and I am thankful that there were a few staff that cared and made a difference. I am not bitter, just highly disappointed and wish them the best for any future residents.

Caring staff

The staff is fantastic , caring and compassionate. The executive director is not a good manager. Period. When her cleaning person was out due to a death on the family, there were no temps to take her place. No contingency plan. Accordingly, my MIL's room was dirty for almost a month. I cleaned her room. It's only when we bring these issues to her attention does anything get changed.

Best ALF

BD MVP is by far the best care facility for my parents. Unlike some others very large places where a parent can get lost and overlooked, BDMVP is the perfect size with a fully engaged and dedicated staff. My parents were and are very safe and comfortable, well fed, engaged in activities and happy which makes me happy.

Home for the Best Sunset Years

Brookdale at Monument Valley Park (BMVP) warmly welcomed my Mom the first time she walked through the door. The beautiful facility feels like a home, with calming, peaceful sun filled rooms. Caring attentive staff guide activities that range from a daily exercise program to social outings to movies to music programs to interactive games. The residents enjoy delicious chef inspired menu choices at each meal in the dining rooms sitting with friends. Housekeeping and laundry are among the benefits when the choice is made to live the best years at BMVP. It’s simply the best place!

Very Caring Staff

Brookdale Monument Valley has been a tremendous help to my family. While, unfortunately, my Dad’s needs were not something they were able to accommodate at their facility, [name removed] and [name removed] went above and beyond to help me find somewhere that was a great fit. They both offered amazing advice and were very patient, even after knowing we were going to have to explore different options. When I toured their facility, it was very well kept and the residents all looked very happy and taken care of. If I ever found myself needing their services, I would definitely feel a sense of comfort and relief knowing my loved one was in their care. There was never a point where any of my interactions felt like it was a ‘transaction,’ but rather that of sincere desire to help find my Dad the care he needed, even if it wasn’t with them. Being COMPLETELY out of my element and having zero clue where to turn, I appreciated this beyond belief.

I would choose this place for myself

The environment is like a "home and family" at Brookdale Monument Valley Park. The facility is warm and inviting. The staff is excellent and personal. They make the transition so easy. They become family quickly! They go over and above to meet needs. They treat the people living there as if they were part of their own individual family! The cost was what it should be. You get what you pay for. Food, fun activities, cleaning, environment and most important, the physical care for residents is excellent. To sum it all up, I would personally want to stay there myself if the need arises!

a nice community

Brookdale Monument Valley has been a really good experience so far, the staff are very friendly and communicative. We do not have any feedback on the meals and dining service as of right now, but the activities and everything we have seen with the activities is very positive. It is a well priced community and we would recommend them to other families.

He has improved greatly

We chose Brookdale Monument Valley Park because of the staff, they seemed really involved, friendly, and helpful. There have been a couple glitches but they have handled everything very well. they always have time to talk when I call and they address my concerns. He is not crazy about the food, they have a lot of people to serve so it is more cafeteria style which is not what he is used to. I do like that it is a smaller facility and the location is great. They have been very accommodating. I would recommend to others who are looking.

Memory Care
June 23, 2021

We have a winner!!! Ratio is 3 to 1. Small facility that is inside an historic home. Memory care is on bottom floor with access to a small courtyard. They have 16 residents now with a max of 18. Cost is $5400/ mo plus evaluated care (usually around $1500, ours would be about $3700/mo) Community fee is $2k. Rooms on smaller side but have room for a queen bed and dressers, couch or recliner and table. Showers are 2/wk included. Unlimited showers are extra. They train with Teepa Snow instructions and have monthly zoom support/training with families. Dr. on staff 5 days a week. Can do activities with AL residents (40ish) upstairs. Staff has been there for a long time, in general. Sales = 3 years, ED is new but came from Mackenzie Place, Janitor = 18 yrs, Activity Dir = 5 yrs? Mini fridge and sink provided Dr can order PT or OT as needed. or PRN for headaches, etc.
