I like it and my loved one seems happy there. What I like most about Brookdale Broadmoor is the people there, all of them. Based on the experience I have had so far, I would absolutely recommend this community to others.

I would say that they do what they have to do. But not much more.

I would never recommend. After the new ED started, a lot of staff quit. Meals were awful, never served in time. In room care was spotty at best and cleanliness suffered. I have not been there for a year to know if anything improved after we left.

Response from Brookdale Broadmoor
April 15, 2024Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Your feedback will be shared with management.
We picked this community, originally because of the caring staff, nursing care and acceptance of smokers. Everything seemed great but didn't know there was a new ED in the facility. Huge staff turnover, horrible food, staffing shortages, no response to inbound calls or messages and no care for my mom. Very sad how quickly this facility fell. I would not recommend it to anyone unless they have fixed the problems.

July 21, 2023Thank you for choosing Brookdale and taking the time to share your feedback. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have and encourage you to contact our management team.
This has been a very positive experience for the family. The staff communication with the family has been very easy, and they are responsive to our questions and following up. Some of the care includes: medication management, bathing and dressing assistance as some care offered by the community.

I toured this community and it was ok. The rooms were small and place is kind of old.

December 20, 2022Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback.
Brookdale Broadmoor is not a place I would have anybody I cared about. It wasn’t clean. It was old and dated. The tour guide took us to an area where all the patients were sitting by the fireplace, stopped at little refrigerator, and said, “This is our snack bar.” Inside was just an old cheese sandwich by itself. Overall we hated it there.

Our family had an in person tour and overall our experience was good just based on everything we saw and all the staff we spoke with
I would not recommend Brookdale Broadmoor to anyone, I left my tour. I was sitting there waiting for my appointment we had set up and the gal called me and said she was running late because she still needed to do laundry, finish her hair, and get gas on the way in and I was already there. I found it very unprofessional. I also go off of vibes when I walk into a facility and I did not get good vibes here.

This community was nice it just did not have the warm fuzzy feeling four our loved one that we were looking for. They were too big and we felt she would get lost in the shuffle.

We toured Brookdale Broadmoor and the facility seemed nice and the guy who showed us around was personable and friendly. I did not see many residents or staff members out and about so there was not a lot of interaction. I just did not get the same feel as I got at another facility.
Our family had a virtual tour because Brookdale was under a pretty strict lock down at the time, but the gentlemen that showed us around did a really good job. Given the circumstances the tour went really well.
Brookdale Broadmoor was too big for my taste. Because of it's size, I was worried about my loved one not getting the care she needed. But the gentleman who ran the tour was very nice.
Our family had a virtual tour experience and it was good. The worker had a phone and took us around the facility. The communication was good, we got all the information we needed.
We did not have a good experience with Brookdale Broadmoor. My mom fell and fractured her shoulder and I found out from another staff member that they did not report it or call me to inform me what had happened. I had to find out from my mom what happened. I was not happy with the way that it was dealt with. They were constantly running out of her medicines and they would not inform me and she would go a couple days without them. I would not recommend this facility to anybody.

The nurses have been very friendly and helpful whenever I call. I recently have had trouble with communication with the executive team. I would recommend Brookdale Broadmoor. They do try very hard in taking care of the residents.

Residents often have to wait for DAYS to receive prescriptions INCLUDING ANTIBIOTICS if there isn’t staff on site to enter the Rx into the computer. This puts the sick person and those they come in contact with at risk!

We only toured the assisted living facility, however they do have a memory care community. The facility was well maintained however, the residence were allowed to sign out and leave as they wanted and the facility was not secured at all times. They did not secure the facility until around nine at night. The few staff members that we met seen friendly and willing to provide any assistance that we might require an provided the pricing for each suite style. all of the suites are on a single floor. The costs for the suites were at the top end of what mom would be able to afford even with assistance from VA. They indicated that I could continue to manage mom's medications and that she could keep her current medical team. The main drawback for us is that they are on the south end of town and about a 30 to 40 minute drive away, not very convenient for the family to maintain contact with mom.
