In my experience, the facility feels remarkably like home. The staff exhibits exceptional care and friendliness while maintaining professionalism. A significant advantage is the notable improvement in my mother's health and the quality of medical care she receives, surpassing what could be achieved at home. The most important aspect is my mother's genuine fondness for the facility, giving me peace of mind knowing she is in capable hands.

It was sufficient for an early stage dementia patient but as they progressed the staff wasn't able to handle them. Didn't get showers as promised wasn't always fed correct diet. The hallways usually smelled bad.

Dad may have been there less than 3 months, yet everyone was always available. They took care of him and really helped him in his last days. Giving him a peaceful transition in his last days. I am very thankful for you, and all that you did. Thank you, [name removed] I will definitely recommend Brookdale,

My mother is a current resident of Clare Bridge, the memory care unit at Brookdale Lakeview Crossing. The staff is caring, pleasant, interacts in a positive manner with my mother, and exercises patience with residents with dementia/Alzheimer. I was out of town for an extended time and I was confident that my mother would receive good care from the staff while I was away. However, I do not feel there is sufficient coverage for 2nd and 3rd shift. There is often only one aide on the floor getting residents ready for bed. I was told there would be activities for residents in the memory care unit but I have not seen any activities other than residents sitting in the common area listening to music or watching TV. The furniture and carpet are stained, dated and need to be replaced. They have a base amount for rent and then add on for needed health services. The memory care unit is not the most beautifully furnished place but the staff and residents make for a very nice community.

We ended up moving more quickly than expected to move mom into her next chapter. After touring several places - some higher end, some not, we felt Brookdale was the perfect fit of class, comfort, and support without being stuffy. Thankfully there was a unit available and we were able to move mom in within 30 days of our first tour. The process was clear, the terms very carefully outlined, and we were VERY impressed with our coordinator, [name removed]. She shows care, grace, and understanding to a challenging situation. The only challenge was in working with the finance department - there were several different rates quoted, so we ensured we had everything in writing to refer back to in case of any questions. Once mom moved in, working with the nursing/ medical team on site has been stellar! Mom had challenges with her PCP prior to moving to Brookdale and the Brookdale team moved quickly to assess and identify solutions to get mom’s BP and health conditions in order.

It's very nice and clean. The staff are friendly and know their patients by name. They have been very accommodating with medication changes and the length of his stay. Dad is in a respite room which is supposed to be temporary but we are now beginning the third month of his stay. I do wish I'd get a report after he is seen by the doctor or nurse. I want him to be a permanent resident . They have a nice variety of activities. I've had a few little hiccups and it was really just communication issues. For example, dad won't shower regularly on his own so the staff is supposed to help him, twice a week. He tells me he's only getting a shower once a week. He might be confused. But, one thing I know he's not confused about is that no one has assisted him getting to meals. He had a repair of a hip fx, I think he needed help, especially in the beginning, even with a walker. He was at the end of a hallway so he had a fair distance to walk. But, I'm happy and I would still pick Lakeview.

I like that I know she is safe and not wandering. I like that I asked for a new blind and they had one up by the next week. I like that the nurses let her call me since she can't have a phone and they get her TV working. I like that they tell me they take her on walks outside, take her to Friday night music sometimes, and take her to the church service. But I have no proof that those things are really happening. The last place said they were doing things too that weren't happening. So it's hard to trust. I feel like it's hard to talk to someone unless you go on a weekday and I work. But they are responsive when I do reach someone. [name removed] has been very good to us and has helped a lot. The place looks clean when you walk through, which I appreciate, But they do not clean the rooms well, as she had dead ants on her floor for months before they were swept up. There is also so much dead skin on the floor - it's gross. I plan to clean the floor the next time I go. I am sad about the fact that I chose that place because they have a screened porch and an outside security fenced garden that, I was told, she would be able to use anytime, but the alarm goes off when she goes on the porch (it is just a door sensor but it freaks her out - she thinks she is not allowed) the door to the garden has a full-fledged alarm and she is not allowed out there. She is very active and loves the outside so I hate that she feels she can't go out. Overall she is content as she can be and we feel like she is safe so, in the end, that's the most important thing.

The staff is excellent. For the price , corporate could provide a better variety and quality of food. Additional charges like $400 to store patients medications if they don't use Brookdale's pharmacy is REDICULOUS!

Overall, the community is convenient and the staff is caring. It works having family members close by to check in and make sure their care needs are being met. Brookdale was chosen because it has the best room set up since it's double occupancy. And fairly close to family.

It was close to my home and we knew some ladies that already lived there. I only visited 2 other communities, so I don't have a lot of experience to compare, but, so far, yes I would recommend it.

All Assisted Living Facilities are ridiculously expensive but compared to others the price for product was good. This was the only place we visited that the "top dog" introduced himself to us and offered to answer any questions we may have. Returned calls regarding questions promptly. Refrigerator in kitchenette was not wiped out and dust from wall repairs were not addressed but otherwise room was okay. Mom seems happy and is much more engaged with life since moving in

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Lakeview Crossing 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
