Over all our experience has been good The place has always been clean. The people friendly The care has been good. [name removed[ is much healthier now. [name removed] is always happy to go to meals. As soon as mealtime is called he's off down the hall as fast as he can go. We're not sure of activities. We know they have some. [name removed] diabetes is difficult to control but he's been doing great there. Our one worry is that there has been turn over of almost the entire staff in the last few months. Everyone we worked with is gone. [name removed] still seems good so we are observing to see how things go. Why did everyone leave?... Read more
At Brookdale Eden Prairie, we implement a deeply rooted, person-centered approach to memory care. Residents are able to find purpose and meaning through interactive, supportive activities, and feel safe here while doing so. Our compassionate team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency. With access to dementia-trained caregivers when you need it, you can rest easier here. Our Alzheimer's and dementia care services incorporate the Clare Bridge program, which aims to sustain residents’ feelings of belonging, purpose and safety, while seeking to preserve their sense of self. Care and safety are at the forefront of our teams’ minds, which is why we have a 24-hour security system and keypad entries, as well as air ionization technology in common areas to protect residents and visitors from viral infections. One of the most popular common areas in the community is called the Town Square — this indoor community centerpiece recreates the center of a small, old town. It includes many remarkably crafted details including cobblestones, a lamp post, and faux storefronts. It’s a rather unexpected feature and remains a popular space for residents to congregate.

Of all 7 places I looked at, I could most easily picture them here. The Ex. Dir gave me the tour and he knew all the peope by name and interacted with them and it was mutual. People were talking to each other, they had great activities and it was apparent they had people at all levels of cognition. There was a "courtyard" as you came in with a desk next to the door and you could see outside, so it did not at all seem like you were locked up. They had great activities and exercize programs (they seemed to be the best of all the places)and there was another couple they looked very personable. I did not see any other couples in all the places I looked at. All on the first floor and accessible courtyard.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Eden Prairie 6.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
