When we went to tour the Pioneer Estates, it was not a good experience. When we first got there, there was a dead mouse by the front door. After that, the regular lady that takes people on tours was in a meeting and another girl took us around. She could not answer any of our questions.

We had to move our 98 year old father from a facility owing to changes being made at that assisted living facility. Dad is frail and needs hands-on care, but is mentally sharp and functioning. Having to move him was stressful, until A Place for Mom suggested Pioneer Estates in Eden Prairie. I wish we had found this place sooner. Dad has been there only a week but we already benefit from their level of personal care. EVERYONE on the staff has been great! They already understand his needs and personality. They are supportive and listen to our requests for individual attention. This home, of three, recently opened. It is a comfortable place and usable facility. The home cooking is a treat and the family atmosphere is so supportive. I think my dad will live there comfortably for a long time. Their motto is - "be family to your loved one and let us handle the work." I was blown away when on the fourth day there, they had taken Dad, and others, for a drive around the Arboretum. Since he has been wheelchair bound for over 2 years, this is the first fun thing he has gotten out to do. It was very special. I think this style of facility, smaller and family centered, is a great option. Knowing what we have experienced so far, I can highly recommend this care site.
