I was very pleased! I picked them for the following reasons: 1. My father wanted a room and bathroom to himself and not have a roommate. Bristol House provided that for all of their residents. 2. My father was an avid walker and Bristol House provided plenty of interior space for walking as well as outside walk areas that were beautifully secured to prevent a resident from wandering away from a safe area. After a period of time his walking routine subsided due to his deteriorating health. 3. The facility had hardwood floors throughout, which made for a more sanitary clean-up if a resident had a bladder mishap. There was never a bad odor. 4. Staff was always helpful. 5. Bristol House was a stand-alone facility with only dementia residents. Staff were trained and prepared to deal with dementia residents. 6. This facility was an hour drive for us but was well worth it for the environment he resided in for the almost one-year he was there. My father passed away {date removed]... Read more

I absolutely loved my experience with [name removed] from A Place for Mom!! All of the above are 5s. The cost of a whole different ballgame at[fee removed]/month. My dad is bedridden and needs a lot of help and Bristol has been able to help him. My dad got evicted from his first facility because of behavior and that's when I reached out to A Place for Mom. I was just besides myself and in tears and Natalie saved me and my dad

We were new to the area and needed to transfer my mother to a closer memory care facility. A Place for Mom shared 3 locations which we visited. Any of the locations would have been acceptable, but the Bristol House stood out. Its new, small, bright, clean and inviting. All of the staff works closely with you to give your loved one a great experience. We would highly recommend Bristol House and strongly give it 5 stars.

I would not put my loved one anywhere else. I have actually referred people there, and they are thrilled with the Care as well. I had never heard of this facility before I was put in contact with a place for mom. I counted as an absolute miracle that they guided me to this wonderful place.

My father arrived here in late 2021. This was after living in a very poorly run dementia unit elsewhere. Bristol House was exceptional. The staff were great - professional - caring. Excellent communication. Very clean and active place. I highly recommend ! We were all so grateful that he was in good hands here before he passed.

The staff has always been courteous to me. My brother has never indicated that the staff was mean or given him any trouble. A Place for Mom gave us four alternatives to look at, and all appeared good. The location of Bristol House was near his hometown and was the most convenient. I would recommend Bristol House, my brother seems to be very happy there.

The executive director [name removed] is awesome and he has been very hands on. He has properly trained the care takers and they are knowledgeable and have been able to handle and manage our loved ones care. We have a lot less stress and we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

This is a great place for loved one's that have memory issues. The staff are very kind and helpful. There hasn't been a time that the staff haven't reached out to me about my loved one. They are responsive to the family's requests about our loved one's care. Some of the activities include painting, drawing, ball toss games, entertainment, monthly parties, and more for the residents to participate in.

Bristol House is a beautiful, bright, and clean place. But they don't' necessarily follow through on the promises you get when you are touring. In my interactions with the staff, I deal mostly with the head nurse/director, and she responds immediately.

We toured Bristol House and it was a good facility, it was very nice. It was much newer and fresher looking, however, they obviously weren't able to accommodate my father. I think they're probably more for people who are just starting their dementia progression, whereas the community we chose can handle those who are more severely debilitating. They are not afraid to have someone who's tricky and needs more work. But they were great, the guy who gave us the tour was good. We got a good understanding of what they could provide. It looked like a really great facility if my dad was just starting. They had a lot of activities, but they were not able to accommodate how far along he was in his stage of dementia. Because of that, we might have had to move him later on. The community we chose let us know that they'd be able to keep him until end of life, which means a lot to me.
Read MoreWe're very, very happy with them. They're a caring community. They're doing a fantastic job given the realities of current staffing difficulties and dealing with a population with dementia. Although I've not tasted it, the food looks very good. They're doing the best they can with activities. I would highly recommend them.

A Place for Mom has scored Bristol House 9.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
