We gave the meals and dining service a 2 based on comments from my aunt and her friends. They do offer a lot of activities but my aunt does not do many of them. I would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

They were able and willing to provide care that other facilities could not. Staff are extremely attentive.

I would say that it's as good as, if not better than any of the other places I looked at and much better that the place we moved her from. For my family it was location and having her own room - she had a roommate in the other place. Bridges is halfway between my brother and myself and much closer to both of us so it's easier for us to visit. And their son, who has autism, and is the light of my aunt's life, did not like the other place and didn't like going there. He is much more willing to go to Bridges.

Both of my parents live here. I couldn’t be happier with the quality of care my parents are receiving. The staff goes above and beyond every day. My daughter recently got married and the staff made it possible for them to attend.

Love the sense of community and the responsiveness of the administrative team. The warmth of the atmosphere and the friendliness of the people. The stability of the staff is impressive. Many have been there since the facility opened 8 years ago. That says something.

The overall value for cost is unmatched, in my opinion, and the atmosphere seemed like it was a perfect fit. I'd say it's a great place to live for their elderly family member and they should absolutely schedule a consult as soon as they can.

We toured with Bridges at Warwick and it was a great experience, they get 5 plus stars. It is an absolutely beautiful facility that has so many great amenities offered. We did not choose this facility because my loved one would have never taken advantage of all of the things that they had to offer.
My mother was a resident there for 2 1/2 years until her passing in 2019. My mother had immediate memory loss and unfortunately that was taken advantage of by a particular aide that assisted her in her hygiene care and dressing routines. Once I was able to put the pieces together and voice my concerns, the situation was addressed by changing her aides. Unfortunately that didn’t last forever because my concerns were heightened again as I was preparing to move her to a different memory care facility. Don’t let looks fool of a beautiful facility fool you and always keep an eye on your loved ones.

Our family has had a mostly good experience with Bridges of Warwick. The staff are generally friendly and caring, and the accommodations are nice. They could improve on consistency in their response time.

Our family had an in-person tour and based on everything we saw and all the staff members we were able to meet with we thought it was a great experience, however, it was just going to be far to expensive for our family.
They took my dad when no one else would. Everyone was friendly and seems to genuinely care about my dad's well-being. The main nurse told me I could call her any time, day or night when my dad got sick. She constantly kept me updated. She helped me make some very difficult decisions and was very caring.

We ended up moving my loved one out of the community after a short stay. My loved one fell in the community within the first few days. The community didn't communicate with the family that our loved one fell and had to be taken to the hospital. The hospital actually had to call me to inform us. The family would communicate concerns and care issues we wanted the community to work on such as making sure to keep our loved one hydrated. This wasn't happening for our loved one by the staff. The community was keeping the residents out of their rooms and in with other residents in common areas. The family was told that the community would allow our loved one to be in their room to feel more comfortable in the community. They weren't willing to accommodate the food requests for the residents, even though they promised the family they would. We never saw activities being done with the residents.

Response from Bridges of Warwick
September 16, 2022Thank you very much for your feedback. We apologize that our care plan meeting and interventions that you suggested and we put in place did not ultimately meet your expectations. We always try to make every effort to include families in the process of improving care outcomes. Please feel free to reach out to our community so that we clarify any issues that you may still have. with our services.
I thought Bridges of Warwick was excellent. I would have put my loved one there in a heartbeat if they had single rooms. Their setup is two people sharing a bathroom, and my loved one was adamantly opposed.

September 16, 2022Thank you very much for your helpful feedback. You mentioned that there were no single(private) rooms available, so you are likely referring to our Memory Care neighborhood at this particular time. Please reach back out to us to discuss your needs. We pride ourselves on trying to overcome challenges to ensure that you and your loved one can enjoy the environment that you choose!!
If you need help, just ask for it, and make sure you follow up. There has been more follow-up than I anticipated, but they are accountable and things have been getting better. My loved one's care is a work in progress, but they've been working with us, and it's getting better. If your person is higher functioning and on board with the move, it's a very good place. Your loved one will get out of the situation what they put into it. My loved one was resistant to going, and sometimes she won't push her button when she needs help, or she refuses services like showering. So there were a lot of things we've had to follow up on, partly because of her resistance, partly due to their use of agency staff to supplement their regular staff. There is some communication breakdown between nursing and the aides. However, every time we've brought any concerns to them, they were very approachable and took the initiative that they could do some things better. The new head of nursing is very approachable and texts back and forth with me. The director is upfront, takes responsibility, and is putting the plans we talked about into action. Everyone has been very friendly with me and helpful. They greet me and say hi, and ask how my loved one is doing. They know her personally. The food looks good, and I don't hear her complain. They do have activities and have been working on getting her to participate. The facility itself is beautiful. It's a good place overall and just needs improvement in internal communication/coordination regarding care needs.

I really liked Bridges of Warwick. They were one of my first choices. But cost was a deterrent. Also, looking back, I think my loved one's care needs were higher than we realized at the time and more than they would have been able to handle with specific lift requirements, etc.
This was a beautiful community. The fees were too much for the family.
Residents seem happy and well cared for. Definitely on our list of possible places for mom.

It is a very clean place, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The staff try to get the residents involved. They also give our loved one physical therapy. I am pleased with the community. They have cooking demonstrations, movies, concerts, and other activities for the residents to choose from.

My husband was in the dementia unit at Bridges, severely disabled from a stroke (could not stand up). Bridges sent him to the ER to petition a 302 on him: involuntary commitment to a psychiatric hospital. It was denied. A person with dementia is not considered to have mental illness, and is not eligible for a 302 which requires mental illness. I learned about this in a class I am taking at Family Service Association. Beware before you send your loved one to Bridges dementia unit. From a lawyer's website: "For a successful petition, a threatening behavior which has occurred must be related to a psychiatric condition. The conditions which cause the behavioral symptoms of dementia are considered physical illnesses, so dementia with dangerous behavior falls between the cracks and does not qualify as a mental health crisis."
