Amoroso Wellness at York

We have had our mom there for a month now. She is adjusting as well as can be and is being cared for great. I have asked for many changes to more accomadate our moms needs. They graciously have made the changes. Placing a grab bar. A toilet to sit higher and several comfort needs for her. Their ratio is 10 -1 however they do have some times two people. They r starting to get a routine which is very important with altheimizers . It is brand new one month old very clean and pretty. Staff learning every ones needs. I go every day but will be backing down as I see her needs are being met. The rest of our family goes every week so there is visitation daily unfortunately our mom never remembers she has visitors but very important to us to know she is being cared for. My advice. Visit frequently even if they don't remember. Ask any questions keep eye on clothing as gets lost sometimes do not take good Jewlery as is lost frequently by client. I highly recommend Brunswick of York dementia unit. Rate financial. $$$ Thanks for careing Brunswick.

Brunswick at Longstown is extremely expensive. I am pleased with the care here though. They seem to have plenty of activities. I saw 3 properties in my area including this one and I liked all of them honestly. Overall the experience has been good.

I just entered my Dad in this facility on May 12th, 2015. I am very pleased with the care he is receiving. My Dad has been diagnosed with dementia and is getting very good care here. He is now going through a difficult time with grieving for my Mother who passed in late 2013. The people here are very patient with him and are trying to get him through this period of grief. They are trying to get him engaged in the activities and they are guiding him to events and encouraging him to participate. I reviewed two other facilities and decided this one was best for my Dad's needs. My Sister and Brother also have been to visit our Dad and they are also pleased with the facility.

Overall It's a good place. My mother has been there since April 15th. She pretty much cares for herself. They are pretty much letting her on her own. They do check on her though. The socialization is great. She is meeting new people. The only complaint we have is the food. The food is not hot and it's over cooked. The food is not great. Overall I'm happy with the place. I feel she's safe and i'm satisfied.

The community and staff are very supportive. They provide not only clean and safe environment but offer socialization opportunities and activities.

We are very pleased with how things have gone at Brunswick at Longstown. The staff are all very friendly and professional. The only real issue we had was some conflict between my loved one and some of the longer term residents when she moved in, but the staff resolved it quickly and there haven't been any issues since. It's a nice looking clean facility, and they take great care of the people who live here.

Overall we're very satisfied with how things have gone at Brunswick at Longstown! They take great care of their residents, the food is good, and our loved one seems happy! Other than the response times when you call for assistance being a bit slow we really haven't had any issues!

We were here for a two week respite stay. Overall they were very personable, and handled the medications appropriately. I do feel that they didn't get my loved one up to do enough activity, barely walking the whole time we were there. There wasn't enough encouragement to join in.

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for our loved one. Overall this was a nice looking community, the facility was clean and well kept and the staff all seemed friendly. What really stuck out to us here was the food, it was absolutely fantastic! It tasted great, it was presented well, and the dining service overall seemed very high quality!

One of the things that really impressed me here is how welcome they made us feel, both during the pre-move interview process as well as the day we moved our loved one in. All of the staff we met were so accommodating, open, and friendly! I've also been very impressed by the longevity of the staff, I know high turnover can be a problem at these places but the staff here all seem to really enjoy their jobs and have a lot of experience at this location.

Overall I was impressed with The Brunswick at Longstown. I would like to see them interact with my mother a bit more in the activities part. I think they should try and match her up with someone like a buddy to help get her better aquainted with the activities.

We've had some major problems regarding Mom's care here, and I really can't recommend it based on what I've experienced. It is a clean place, and some of the staff (the activities director in particular) are very nice. However, We really feel like we're having to stay on their case about making sure Mom gets the care that she needs. She had some health issues come up, and we'd leave instructions for the additional assistance she might need, things as simple as bringing her a replacement bag of ice at night, and they just don't get done. We feel like they don't adequately care for or about my Mom. I get the distinct feeling that they feel like we are a problem for them, and that they'd rather not have to deal with us. I don't really feel like I can ever rest easy knowing that my Mom is somewhere where they might be ignoring her out of frustration.

We were very fortunate in that they had a room for Mom as she was coming out of the hospital. She has only been there 3 weeks, and it has been an adjustment for her. Staff is very helpful. Lots of activities which Mom doesn't take advantage of yet. She has made some new friends which is good. Bed is not always made, so I do it if I am there. I visited 5 Assisted Living facilities in our area and this one fit our needs the best. On the whole, I think it is a nice place and if there is a problem, the staff is very accommodating.

Things are going ok. There has been a small situation that we are trying to deal seems like some things are coming missing a little faster then they should be. The food is very good and overall everything seems to be going along just fine.
