The overall feeling of the facility is that it is very institutional and not homey. I'd love to see residents' artwork on the walls, or other things that would brighten up the living space. I understand that carpets are not practical, but there has to be some way to brighten things up. Perhaps a nice color of paint on the walls? Some murals? Music playing? Pictures on the walls depicting things from when residents were children? How about a partnership with some local schools where kids can come read to residents (or vice-versa)?... Read more

We chose Allegria at The Oaks because we had heard good things about it and the price was right. They were pretty good with communication, especially the hospice nurses. I absolutely recommend them to others looking.

With covid they have not been able to offer as many as activities as they can, but they do their best. The staff are very attentive and they answer all concerns we have in an efficient manner or handle all requests with no problem and with a smile. They are very responsive and we just had a great experience so far.

We chose Allegria at The Oaks because the value was competitive with others we looked at and the location was good for our family. He also did have a roommate option which not everyone did, so the price is cut down more. They are very good with communication, especially during covid. I would recommend the facility to others.

My loved on has been happy with the community. I would recommend Allegria at the Oaks. The community is playing bingo during COVID. The food is good and not five star quality, but gets the job done for the residents.

My mom was a resident at Allegria. We had her pulled during the Covid pandemic in April 2020. We were told there was no Covid in the facility, but in fact she had Covid, a fever and pneumonia. All undetected by the staff. We had a camera in her room and saw her fading away, which is why we called 911 and had her pulled. Starting in March we were unable to visit. We sent my mom care packages with photos, letters and magazines, so she would know we loved her. She has dementia, so she didn't fully understand the situation. As we now go through the boxes they packed of her stuff, we found all those letters unopened. No one on staff thought to help her enjoy and look at what she received. There were quite a few caretakers who did care, but the team was severely understaffed before the Covid outbreak. I am sure it didn't get better during the pandemic Before you choose to send your family member here, please look around and make sure this is the right fit for you. It is a minimal assistance assisted living.

My dad was there for only four nights. And he had a week at hospital and then 12 days at hospice and he passed on [date removed]. We were excited that my dad would be living there. Sadly it was short-lived.

My mother was a resident of Allegria At The Oaks and all me and my family can say is thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking such good care of our mother. This is a fabulous place with an awesome staff who always listened and supported the needs of the residents and family members. We were very lucky to have found such a caring home for our mother and for that we are forever grateful.

Both my brother and cousin have lived at Allegria at the Oaks and I have been so impressed with the care provided to both of them. The memory care floor, which my cousin lives in, is full of caring staff who really know how to work with those with dementia. They have a certified music therapist who knows how to tap into the residents' potential and the activity staff are so involved. Most of the staff there are so friendly and accommodating. My brother really enjoyed the meals and how clean his room was kept. He also loved the parties and outing they provided. I would highly recommend Allegria at the Oaks if you are looking for a reasonable rate with excellent care.

I was responsible for finding a residence for two people and the Oaks of Bensalem was an absolutely perfect place. One was placed in the memory care unit and the other in the assisted living area. The staff is very committed to providing excellent care for the residents. Both levels have access to the outdoors to enjoy the fresh air. This community is very clean smelling and the environment is very warm and inviting. There is an abundance of different types of activities to participate in, they definitely keep the residents busy. The food is very good, they serve ample servings, no one goes away hungry! They do offer transportation for outside excursions for the residents. I would definitely recommend this community to friends and family. And a big thank you to A Place For Mom for providing options and help in finding a place for the people I care for.

My mother can no longer live by herself so she is now living at the Oakes Of Bensalem where the staff is very friendly and welcoming to be around. They try hard to make the residents feel happy and relaxed. The food is very good and they have many fun activities to take part in. The facility is kept clean and the décor is very inviting. I feel the residents are well taken care of. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
