Total lifecare excellence at Pennswood Village

Pennswood Village spreads over a huge campus adjacent to the George School in Newtown, with 14 residential apartment buildings connected to a central Community Building. There is a lovely "assisted living" section for those no longer able to live fully independently, as well as a full-nursing-care unit rounding out the "continuing care" spectrum of services. Several dining rooms provide very good meals, ranging from the rather formal "Main Dining Room" to the much more casual "Café." The facilities include two indoor pools, a very well equipped work-out gym facility, sizeable library, art gallery, auditorium, walking trails through woods and meadows, and an amazing array of all sorts of activities. In the "Independent living" buildings there are ten different floor plans ranging from studio units to large apartments with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, large den, fully equipped kitchen, and patio (or balcony). Maintenance throughout the complex, inside and out, is superlative. There is, for example, a 7-man team devoted solely to exterior landscaping. In fact, the ratio of residents to employees is approximately one-to-one, and it shows. Pennswood is certainly not the least expensive retirement community in Bucks County, but in view of the very high quality in all areas of administration, I felt that the entrance fee and monthly charges were not unreasonable and reflect the superior caliber of life at Pennswood Village....
