So far they have been great. They have a Facebook page where they upload pictures of the residents doing the activities and they seem to really encourage them to participate. You are able to schedule times to eat with your loved ones and the meals look great and we have heard nothing but good things. Visiting is easy and the staff are all super helpful and great with communication and providing updates to us since we do not live close. We have been very pleased with our experience at Villas of HollyBrook.

An assisted living community is a residential living community which provides aid, care, and support to independent individuals who are not in need of skilled nursing care. Assisted living communities frequently offer help with transit and appointments, opportunities for social activity, and supervision of care. In some cases, communities may provide hospice, “aging in place”, or dementia care. In Illinois, the annual median cost for an assisted living community is around $50,040 . The state of Illinois has a number of stipulations associated with this kind of community. The Illinois Department of Public Health regulates this type of community. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include communities must provide three daily meals. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to assure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as evaluation of a prospective resident’s psychosocial condition, provider must ensure that the resident and the resident’s representative, if any, are informed of the potential consequences of activities that the provider considers to pose risks to health and/or safety, assessment must be updated by a physician annually or upon a significant change in condition, and evaluation of a prospective resident’s cognitive condition. The maximum occupancy is 1 residents per room. There must be one bath or shower for every residents and one toilet for every 1 residents. The minimum number of residents for this community type is 3. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include emergency response systems, medication reminders, assistance with activities of daily living, and security. Public assistance is available through A Medicaid 1915(c) waiver called the Supported Living Program and a 1915(b) waiver called the Managed Long-Term Services and Supports program. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include medication administration, supervision of self-administered medications, and only a licensed health care professionall employed by the community may administer medications. Staff members obtain training in a number of fields. These include: choice, job responsibilities and limitations, promotion of dignity, and privacy.
