When our mother showed signs of dementia and was diagnosed last year we didn't expect her disease to move so quickly. We knew we needed help but we just didn't know how to afford it and allow my dad to live at home. [name removed] from Addington reached out and assured me she could help. I met with [name removed] and [name removed], both who have been in my shoes. We placed my mom in their care in June. They've been life savers. The nurses [name removed] and [name removed] are absolutely wonderful and keep us informed all the time. They don't hesitate to meet with me when I'm there visiting. I can come anytime I want. The activities director keeps my mom moving with entertainment, crafts and outings. The staff is kind a patient. My mom can be a handful, this I know but they always help and are kind. I appreciate them all so much!... Read more

It was ok.... some of the staff was great. The man that took over was never involved... night time aids needed more training.

Addington Place is just what a Memory Care Center should be. The employees nurses, and the entire staff are friendly, compassionate, and caring. The director is involved with the residents and even knows their names. The activity director goes above and beyond what you would expect and does a great job keeping the residents busy with programs and activities. I’m so happy I chose this place for my husband, I feel like I couldn’t have chosen a better place!

So far it seems like a good place. I can't say it's top notch on everything, some things could be improved, I suppose.

They should not accept insulin-dependent diabetics if they cannot properly care for them. Addington Place is under new management effective [date removed] and rates are increasing effective [date removed]. Based off of our experience, I would not recommend Adding Place of Edwardsville to others.

Addington Place of Edwardsville is one of the nicest facilities I’ve had the opportunity to visit. It’s like being at a five-star resort. The people are friendly and caring. The place is immaculately clean. They constantly provide fun opportunities for the community to come in and interact with the residents. I couldn’t think of a better place for my mom to be.

It was small, only a memory unit, very nice, close to my home, it felt like a good fit for mom and us.We have had a very good experience. It is a very nice place. Nice people. Clean. They take very good care of Mom. I would tell a friend, to do their own research as well because not each place is suited for everyone. You have to find what works for you and your family and loved one.

If you really love your family member you will not place them here, they do not take care of residents well here, my dad died here and he died with 8 bedsores, had I known his care wasn’t going to be better I would not have placed him here, I’ve reported them to the state of Illinois, so look at other facilities don’t put them here

One of the things we have been impressed by is how friendly and nice the staff is. Not only just to my dad, but also the whole family. It really feels like they genuinely care. My dad has a private room and it is very large and spacious. We have been very happy with our experience at Addington Place of Edwardsville.

The staff members have just been great, every time we come to visit we are able to see just how well they work with the residents. We have not had first hand experience with the meals or dining service but our loved one has yet to complain, she seems overall satisfied. Our loved one tends to not participate in the activities, but we do know they have plenty there for the other residents. We do think the value for the money is great. We had a great first impression, we toured other communities and Addington Place is more updated, the rooms are really cute, they are all on one level and on the main level.

Our family had an in person tour and we really liked this community. The place was very clean and well kept but just a little to big for our mother.
Our family had an in person tour and Cedarhurst was spot on, they were a strong facility, but it was our second choice just due to location. However the lady giving us the tour was so gracious, kind, and helpful. Even after not choosing Cedarhurst she continued to follow up occasionally just to check in.
We toured this community and we really like it. They have a very nice outdoor space with large patios for the residence to enjoy. The staff was very nice and informative.
The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The nurse seemed to get frustrated easily. Communication was good between the family and the staff. They kept us well informed and up to date. I would recommend this community

We chose Cedarhurst of Edwardsville at the time mostly because of their memory care unit. They do not tend to have any residents who have any combative disorders. In general the room sizes were very nice and good size. If your loved one does need memory care, the nurses that are specifically doing that seem to know what they are doing and will really work with you. I would recommend to others who are looking, if you are able to afford it.

They are a good place. They did a good job of selling the place. My husband has been there twice for respite care. Last year's stay was better than this year. They knew I was coming to pick him up and when I got there he was not shaved and there was food around his mouth. So I was a little disappointed.

What a wonderful facility! I had my mom here for two years. They always had lots of fun activities and the staff was most caring. My mom didn’t have memory issue but was frail and with macular so couldn’t see much. The close proximity of her apartment to meals and activities was perfect for her in getting around.

We toured this community for care. The staff was nice and the community was clean with a nice environment. The menu seemed appealing and they offered activities. This community had a nice environment for the residents. We would suggest that other families tour this community on their own for the information needed for the care of a loved one.

A Place for Mom has scored Addington Place of Edwardsville 7.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
