These include: exploitation of a resident, Residents’ rights, Medical and social needs and characteristics of the resident population, and 24 hours of continuing education during the first year and 16 hours annually thereafter. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to guarantee their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as whether family supports are available, assessment to determine the resident’s physical care needs, A written care plan must document the assessment findings, and assessment to determine the resident’s functional capacity with regard to ADLs. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include assisting residents with self-administration, assisting with an Epi pen, and placing an oral dosage in the resident’s hand. Public assistance is available through 1915(c) Medicaid Waiver programs- ) the Community Care Services Program is managed by the Department of Community Health’s Division of Medical Assistance Plans and partners with the Division of Aging Services and the Service Options Using Resources in a Community Environment (SOURCE) program. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include administration of medications by a certified medication aide, the provision of assisted self-preservation, described as personal services, and assisted living care. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include at least three meals, one nutritious snack, and any therapeutic diets ordered by a resident’s health care provider must be provided each day.
