This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include assistance with activities of daily living , assistance with self-administration of medications, personal care services, and nursing services. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include opening the container and removing a prescribed amount of medication, placing an oral dosage in the resident’s hand, and staff may take previously dispensed, properly labeled containers from where they are stored and bringing them to the resident. Staff must obtain training in a variety of areas. These include: providing assistance with activities of daily living, resident rights, community sanitation procedures, and resident behavior and needs.
