Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to ensure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as he program must be reviewed as the resident’s condition requires, RN conducts consultation with the resident, medications, treatments, and other required nursing services, and plan must include types and frequency of services needed. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include communities must provide residents with three meals per day. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include delegation of supervision of self-administered medications, assistance with ADLs, provision of care and services to residents whose conditions are chronic and stable, and disease prevention. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include reminding residents to take medications, verifying, and medication administration . Public assistance is available through Medicaid 1915(c) waiver programs and through the non-Medicaid state-funded Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders.
