I did not visit any other facilities. I immediately felt at home at Kensington Place. The community was clean and cheerful. I simply got a good vibe. It was also helpful that my uncle lives right around the corner. The faculty/staff has my father's best interests at heart. They are helpful and kind.

We have absolutely no complaints about the staff or the care our loved one is receiving, everyone has been so great to work with and they are very good with our loved one. One of her favorite things at The Village is the meals and dining service, she say it is excellent and they will even deliver the meals to her room if she does not want to go to the dining hall. She has made friends and is socializing when she wants. They have plenty of different activities and opportunities for residents to get involved. She really enjoys going outside and sitting on the porch. We would absolutely recommend The Village at Kensinton place, we feel very comfortable with our loved one being there.

The community serves us because I was looking for specific things and it was close to my home. they have been good to my parents and they are very good in the community. This community was also a very good value for your money. Overall I feel like this community is a really good place. They have activities at the community like bingo, movie nights, singers that come in to entertain as well as cultural entertainment. They also have day trip activities and more for the residents to do in the community. They also celebrate all of the holidays.

This is a nice community and for us it is very close to the hospital that she uses. This is nice because my loved one is able to go back and forth for treatments without family having to take her. I have not interacted much with the staff but the front desk is nice and when we moved my loved one in they were very helpful and everything I have seen has been fine.

The staff members are very welcoming, they have gone above and beyond for our family and have answered any questions we have ever had. Everything so far has been above our expectations. The activities coordinator there is amazing, she has encouraged our loved one to get her to a place we never thought she would get to and now she loves participating in the activities which is something we love.

I went on several virtual tours, and at this one the building didn't seem as nice as others I had seen. Mostly the residents in the memory care unit seemed to be pretty far gone, and my loved one who is higher functioning wouldn't have had enough interaction with people like herself.
I'm not sure if it's related to the pandemic, but things happened there that left me wondering, and I've never really gotten an answer for it. My loved one was there only for a month, and he fell three times. I was told about it each time. Then he had to be taken to the emergency room once or twice. The last time he went to the emergency room, he didn't come back. Unfortunately he passed away. He had some bruises on his eye, and The Village didn't know why. Each time he fell, they didn't really have any answers and couldn't tell me why. In that respect, I think maybe they could have done a better job. The other thing I found a little frustrating is the length of time that it took them to reimburse the money they were supposed to. I had to go back to them several times, and they would always say we're working on it. If I hadn't followed up with them, I feel like I would still be waiting on the money. I found that to be disturbing. They seemed like they made an effort to keep me informed, about my loved one's care and I welcomed that. They texted me pictures of him participating in activities. The people working there seemed to be friendly, kind, and helpful, so I appreciate that. They did what they could I guess. It's just hard to tell what was going on with the care with so many restrictions. And I couldn't monitor my loved one like I would have wanted to, especially because he was in the memory care section.

May 12, 2021Hello, we are sorry to hear about the experience that your family had with us. We take all feedback seriously, and would like to learn more so that we can strive to improve. Can you please reach out to us at Benchmark so that we can address your concerns? Thank you.
The community has been friendly until they had to lock down due to the pandemic. The Village at Kensington Place would be suitable for some people. The community is good for people who can no longer care for a house or even for those with memory care health concerns.

We chose The Village at Kensington Place because of the location, my brother lives in the same town, the people were extremely nice, polite, and friendly. I just had a good feeling about the place. We went through this with my mother in law so we were pros at looking into facilities, we felt this was the best option for my mother. The room sizes were good here. I would absolutely recommend.

We are very pleased with The Village. The staff is very attentive and they have had no cases of the Covid-19 virus because they are so proactive. The food is fantastic and the chef is incredible. The community itself is immaculate and they are vacuuming and cleaning every single day. The staff is phenomenal and go out of their way with us and the residents. It is very expensive, however knowing mother is safe and happy is invaluable.

Please DO NOT send your cherished loved one to this facility. They have NO compassion for you or your family member living there. It is all about the money for this facility and they do not treat your loved one with dignity. I am so sorry I sent my parent to this place (has since passed away). Stay far away from this assisted living facility!! There are much better ones out there.

1. Aides have 7 minutes to respond to a call if you push your button. Sometimes you need to push the button a few times to get someone to come because of demand and staff levels. 2. Nurses on staff are not there to care for the residents if anything happens - it is all handled by outside nursing staff at a cost. So just like living at home without a nurse. The nurses manage meds but, don’t administer them unless short staffed on senior aides that generally hand out. 3. Leaks everywhere in the building especially when it rains hard. 4. Office staff constantly lose paperwork, checks etc.... seem a bit unorganized and not on top of things. Bills do not come consistently month over month at the same time. When you do get them they give you 7 days to pay them inclusive of mail timing. A little unrealistic regarding response timing. It’s considered late the minute you mail the bill. 5. Doctor comes in 1 time a week on Thursdays but, you cannot see them iunless you are signed up to see them. 6. Very limited staff on weekends. The good news is parking in the staffing parking lot B is pleantiful on weekends. 7. Cost of meds are not included in the administering charge hence the up front expense is titled as such. You get a separate fee from the pharmacy. 8. They charge $5 fee for meal delivery per meal and it generally comes 30 minutes after the dining room rush is done 9:30, 1:30 and 6:30 and usually cold. 9. Make sure you ask for a documented listing of all incidental charges. I’m sure we haven’t hit them all yet. 10. The washing machines on the 2nd floor which is supposedly the best one one looks like it is 20 years old and only works just okay to throughly clean clothes. 11. Food is pretty good and servers attentive. 12. People working there do seem to genuinely care. 13. Reaction times are a bit delayed and need to follow up a few times for changes or new requests (new meds, maintenance etc... unless you are right on top of them). Wondering how reactionary they will be in emergencies? 14. They will drive you to where ever you want to go even if it is outside of 10 miles for doctors, dentists and errands which is very nice and the driver is very accommodating. 15. Aides seemed to have changed abruptly and are hired from outside agency. 16. Hair Salon operated by outside stylist that comes twice a week. Prices are a bit steep. My opinion but its pure economics....low supply and high demand allow for higher charges. 17. Fruit flies everywhere. Need to be professionally addressed. 18. Not what I expected based on the Sales pitch but, not enough to make me want to move my loved one either. 19. When I got a professional opinion, they said they were OK. I would agree they are ok Not bad but, not great. 20. Need more attention to detail, tighter quality controls, higher expectations of staff and faster response timing that is measured and monitied for improvement would put them a notch higher than okay.
