The community has good staff; however I feel they are understaffed currently. There has been some staff turnover since my loved one moved into the community. Due to the staffing challenges this can cause delays in waiting for meals, care, and more. [name removed] the Director is wonderful; however she seems overworked. [name removed] is also wonderful. [name removed] does a great job with the activities for the residents.

Country Meadows Of West Shore in Mechanicsburg, PA

The past 60 days has been an overwhelming journey for our family as we navigated our parents hospitalizations, rehabilitations, moves from an independent living facility to assisted living at Country Meadows, and the eventual death of our father. It’s not an understatement to say that the staff at Country Meadows was outstanding every step of the way. The marketing team, the transportation drivers, the nursing staff, the kitchen personnel and maintenance staff are professional and kind in the way they interact with both residents and family. When it became clear that our father’s care needs were more at the level of a skilled nursing facility, [name removed] and [name removed] worked with us to come up with a plan combining private duty and hospice care to allow him to return to Country Meadows from the rehab facility. His last week of life was spent with his wife rather than alone in another new facility. Just a week later, our mother was ready to move to a single room, and once again, the staff were on hand to arrange everything. We are thankful to everyone who is a part of the team.

When I realized my sister was no longer able to live alone in her home due to dementia, I felt overwhelmed. A friend suggested that I look into Country Meadows. From the get-go, the Country Meadows staff answered my many questions and allayed my concerns. [name removed] and [name removed] visited my sister and me in my sister’s home. Their knowledge and empathy won me over. Their kindness and sense of humor convinced my sister to agree to the move. Once settled at Country Meadows, my sister flourished. She made friends and participated in activities that she never would have done had she had stayed in her home. Unfortunately, as time passed, her dementia worsened. She needed extra care which led to a move to the Memory Care unit. The staff members were attentive, caring, and kind. Unfortunately, the dementia led to hospice care and a move to the Pathways unit. Again, the staff did a great job trying to keep my sister engaged and lifting her spirits. Many thanks to you all
