My company provides Physical Therapy services to the residents at Heritage Mills. [name removed] and her staff really care about the residents and go above and beyond to help them thrive and be comfortable in their new home. Highly recommended!

After moving Dad here from some not so good experiences, I feel comfortable that he is being well cared for. The staff is friendly and and caring. Communication w/the staff of concerns and needs for my Dad have been very good. I am very grateful for A Place for Mom and the help they provided me with finding a great place for my Dad.

My mom moved in about 5 weeks ago and I am very pleased with how the staff has encouraged her to participate in activities and made her feel so welcome. The facility is clean and the staff is caring and friendly.

I reluctantly placed my mom at Heritage Mills Memory Care Unit after 3 years of keeping her in her own home with Alzheimer's, with one on one caregivers. We were immediately welcomed as family. The administrator and her staff were forthcoming and honest about the care that mom would receive, which was a little concerning coming from a one on one situation, but at that point the move was necessary for moms safety. (as with most care homes, understaffing is always going to be an issue). We were pleasantly surprised at how well mom was cared for. We were able to stop in whenever we were able and we never found mom uncared for. Mom loved the staff that helped take care of her, and they made the last few months of her life, and ours, a pleasant experience. Alzheimer's is a horrible disease, but Heritage managed to keep mom safe and comfortable, and provided us with peace of mind knowing that she was in good hands. Thank you Heritage!

After Mom suffered a severe fall it became that long-term care was the only practical solution. We were referred to Heritage Mills by [name removed] from "A Place for Mom". It proved to be an excellent choice. The staff was caring, the facility was clean and well-maintained, and Mom reported the food was good. I was there on several occasions and was very pleased by the level of care. I recommend Heritage Mills and A Place for Mom.

Cleanliness is fairly good here compared to most personal care homes. Some staff are much friendlier than others. Rooms are on the small side with not much room for more than a bed and dresser, despite the pictures shown on this site. Getting a recliner or some shelves in would be a tight fit. There could be more activities to get the residents up and moving, thinking, and out of their rooms. While I was visiting, I saw the activities aide reading the newspaper aloud to a small group of residents and he probably could have had them more actively involved by letting them take turns reading aloud to the group and using guided discussion techniques after each story was read. All in all, it is a good place for residents with involved family members who can provide stimulation for their loved ones through weekly visits and outings.

They initially put themselves forth as a valuable community resource when my mother moved in with me, then they did an about face and I was left with no help. The woman didn't even have the courtesy to call me back and tell me they had changed their minds about the offer of in home help. What kind of place does that? Had she returned my call, this review would have been far different.

The company that now owns Heritage Mill in Tower City, which is Senior Solutions Health Care in Scranton, PA, owes her estate over $4,000 reimbursement that was paid in advance of my mother's death. They will neither return our phone calls nor respond to our inquiries. We have made several attempts to contact [Removed] and he has never responded. Their lack of integrity is holding up the entire Estate Settlement for my mom. We now have to go thru an attorney to get them to do what they should have done 3 months ago. I would not recommend placing anyone in this facility since the new administration apparently doesn't care how they run their business.

My father's respite stay experience went very well here at this community. He really liked it, and enjoyed his time here. The community looks nice, they do a good job with the cleanliness of the community. He tried many of the activities they have available. He didn't complain about the meals, so I'am guessing the food was good. The staff was very friendly and kind. He knew he was safe and being cared for well. I would highly recommend this community.

The staff is attentive and caring of the residents. The facility is exceptionally clean. Call bells are answered within a minute!! The atmosphere of the unit is calm which is appealing to my Mother. If I had to find a deficiency it would be that the common area is too small and there are residents who sleep in that area on the lounge chairs. This means there is no place for anyone else to use the area.

My mother has dementia and had been in assisted living when she fractured her hip. While in a nursing home after her surgery, assisted living told us they didn't want her back. It seemed like she was doomed to stay in an overcrowded dementia unit in this nursing home. My daughter suggested contacting "A Place for Mom" . So glad I did. The next day I got a call from Heritage Mill. They assured me they take wheel chair residents. The administrator took care of all the transfer paperwork. What a blessing. This is a clean, beautifully decorated home that has to be toured to fully appreciate.

Good care. Good food. Clean and fresh appearance. No odor. Fine and caring staff. Lots of interaction between staff and residents. Staff standouts are Cathy, Trish and Wendy. Mom loves her new home.
