Types of care available in Great Falls, VA
I think all 7 categories meet the mark, but they should, since this an upscale facility and more costly than others. The staff is terrific. My wife has difficult Lewy body dementia and the facility does well. I'm happy with it.
My sister has lived at Forest Hills in the Health Care Center for a while. Before the pandemic, they had wonderful activities as well as great nursing care. In the pandemic they have done an incredible job to keep everyone safe, to figure out ways to have safe activities and/or virtual or safe visitation zones (following CDC guidelines). The staff is working under challenging circumstances and they continue to be kind, patient and deliver high quality care. We are so very grateful my sister can live in such a great facility.
I would and do highly recommend Harper's Station. Dad was very happy there. His and my only issue was phone service. It was constantly going down for hours to days at a time. Dad was one of the first residents there so it may have been resolved by now.

Nursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide long-term care for seniors with significant physical or mental health conditions, and short-term care to people recovering from an injury or hospital stay. Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home provides residence to two or more persons who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. A nursing home facility provides its occupants with care by registered nurses. These caregivers provide specialized care for seniors who are unable to care for themselves because of mental or physical conditions.
Nursing homes can be a helpful and comfy living choice for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will frequently accept persons 55 and older (a rarity in theworldof senior care). As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to make complaints, exercise your rights as a U.S. citizen, get information on services and fees, and be treated with respect. A significant portion of nursing home occupants are seniors who experience difficulty with hearing and seeing, have incontinence issues, require assistance with daily tasks such as walking, or have a physical or mental disability. Many occupants of nursing homes are elderswith interpersonal social issues. These can include verbal outbursts, resisting support, or a tendency to wander. Examples of care services and amenitiesprovided at nursing homes can include adult day health care (which offers nursing and therapy) , injections, home care (like cooking, cleaning, or help with other daily activities), and rehabilitation needed due to injury, disability, or illness.
