Country Meadows of Allentown
5.0

As my mother began to decline a few years ago, I began looking for a retirement community for her. I visited about ten communities in the Lehigh Valley. It was apparent from the beginning that Country Meadows is special. My mother was very reluctant to leave her home but she quickly adjusted to life at Country Meadows. Making new friends, enjoying a wide range of activities, field trips and country rides keep her engaged. She initially lived in the Personal Care building but has since transitioned to Memory Care and she has received very good care in both. The staff at Country Meadows goes above and beyond their duty. From marketing to the nursing staff to maintenance all are excellent. My mother doesn’t always remember the name Country Meadows so she refers to it as “the place where people treat me so nice”.

Bethlehem Manor Senior Living
5.0

We have been very happy with Bethlehem Manor, we would highly recommend them to any family. They are a very caring group of people. Our loved one was nervous her first day but they were so helpful with the transition and made her feel comfortable right away. She now has fit right in and is very happy. Overall she likes the food, but because of the covid restrictions we just aren't sure how many activities are going on.

Connections at Country Meadows Bethlehem is in a lovely setting. The staff is made up of kind, caring, patient people. Everything is positive and upbeat, and the food is amazing!

Nursing Homes

A nursing home facility provides room and board to at least two persons who have no familial relation to the administrator. This type of complex provides its occupants with around-the-clock care administered by registered nurses. These nurses offer healthcare services for seniors who cannot take care of themselves.

Nursing homes can be a helpful and comfortable living option for individuals 65 years and above, however nursing homes will allow persons 55 and older (a rarity in the realm of senior care). Many residents of nursing homes may have behavioral issues. These can consist of a tendency to wander, verbal outbursts, or resisting care. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to have protections against involuntary transfer or discharge, form or participate in resident groups, be free from discrimination, and make complaints. Often times persons might choose life in a nursing home over another type of facility due to a physical or mental impairment that prevents them from easily accomplishing the activities of daily living. A significant amount of occupants tend to be single women who have smaller social support groups, and about 50% of nursing home residents are over 85 years old. Nursing homes are required to provide medically-related social services, dietary services, a professionallly directed program of activities, and nursing and related services to residents.
