The Addison in Durham, NC

I would recommend to others. Overall, we are happy with the experience our mother is having, given her condition. The work of managing the memory care facility has got to be difficult and I appreciate them keeping her safe. Can't expect much more.

Phoenix Assisted Care in Cary, NC
4.0 / 5.0

My mother is doing very well at the Phoenix Assisted Care. The place is clean and well maintained. When we first moved in, she was in a shared room but has now moved into a private room. The meals they provide are very good.

Spring Arbor of Raleigh
5.0 / 5.0

My loved one was a resident at Spring Arbor of Raleigh until they had a fire recently, which unfortunately displaced most of the residents. The staff at this facility was great. My loved one really liked the place. I liked it too, from my very first visit. Everything was great about my loved one's experience at this facility. It really was a great place!

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is an establishment that houses two or more seniors who have no familial relation to the administrator. A nursing home facility provides its occupants with care by on-site nurses. These caregivers offer care for people who are unable to properly take care of themselves because of mental or physical conditions, including age.

This type of facility is a familiar and easy care option for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will usually admit persons 55 and older rarely heard of in senior care regarding other care types. Some services come at an extra cost which can include cosmetic and grooming items, personal clothing, and personal reading materials. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to have your representative notified about your care, to manage your money, make complaints, and get proper medical care. The most frequent mental condition effecting nursing home residents is dementia, which can hinder their memory recall, decision making capacities, and and familiarity. Often times seniors might choose life in a nursing home due to a physical or mental disability that makes it difficult for them to accomplish their lifestyle goals.
