Eddy Memory Care at Eddy Hawthorne Ridge in East Greenbush, NY
5.0 / 5.0

I've been very happy with the care my mom received at Hawthorne Ridge. Specifically, you kept her safe. I know too well how devastating the past 20 months have been and was impressed with the hard work of the team there. You've done a remarkable job.

They are really perfect. They are trying to accomodate my loved one, who loves the breakfast. They have plenty of activites. The value for the money is worth it, and it gives me a peace of mind. I saw the community before, and had the opportunity to tour the place, and it was a nice place. I was able to get my loved one in there quickly. The staff is amazing.

Peregrine Crossgate in Albany, NY
5.0 / 5.0

The staff has been very helpful answering all of questions and concerns. Everyone is very friendly and caring. The facility is clean and has lots of activities. The other residents are so nice and welcoming. They are good. My MIL is in a deluxe studio. Very roomy and plenty of space. Bathroom is a bit small, but sufficient for her needs. Nice walk in shower.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home facility offers room and board to two or more seniors who have no personal ties to the administrator. This type of residence offers its inhabitants 24-hour care by registered nurses. These nurses provide specialized care for people who cannot adequately take care of their needs.

Nursing homes are a helpful and easy care choice for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will frequently allow access to persons 55 and greater which is unusual for other senior care types. Some services come at an extra cost which can include personal reading materials, personal clothing, and flowers and plants. Many occupants of nursing homes may have behavioral troubles. These can consist of resisting care, verbal outbursts, or a tendency to wander. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to spend time with visitors, exercise your rights as a U.S. citizen, have your representative notified about your care, and be free from restraints. The most common mental condition experienced by nursing home residents is dementia, which can cloud their memory recall, and their sense of familiarity with their surroundings, and decision making abilities. A significant number of nursing home occupants are persons who experience difficulty with hearing and seeing, have incontinence issues, require assistance with daily tasks such as walking, or have a physical or mental disability.
