They are really perfect. They are trying to accomodate my loved one, who loves the breakfast. They have plenty of activites. The value for the money is worth it, and it gives me a peace of mind. I saw the community before, and had the opportunity to tour the place, and it was a nice place. I was able to get my loved one in there quickly. The staff is amazing.

When the pandemic started back in March 2020, I was terrified. Not for myself, but for my mother and her friends at Hawthorne Ridge.. My fears were put to rest when I learned of the amazing protocols put immediately into place by staff. Life could stay "normal" for my mother and her friends.... except for following the rules set in place. I feel absolutely at peace, knowing that my mother is in one of the safest facilities in upstate. Even when there were cases, I never panicked, because I knew steps were in place to ensure the exposure was minimal to none. Recently,[name removed] likened the staff at Hawthorne to the band that kept playing while the Titanic sank..... the thing is, Hawthorne NEVER sank.... the HEROES who work there rose to the occasion and kept our loved ones safe. The word heroes has been thrown around a lot during the pandemic, but I truly believe that the staff at Hawthorne TRULY earned that badge! Thank you from the bottom, middle and top of my heart!!
From the rime you walk in Hawthorne Ridge, the staff and surrounds are welcoming and kind. The facility is well designed to make it feel like home; comfortable, clean, and well kept. The staff always makes our mom feel like she is special and important, even during those times when she maybe a little prickly. We look forward to talking to staff and appreciate all that they do by consistently going above and beyond for our mom.
Thank you to you and your staff for all you do and for your patience with us through this tough period.
I find very good care here and friendly surroundings, good food and good activities.
I've lived there 11 years and am so glad I came. It's been a wonderful experience.
I am very comfortable living here. I have toured other facilities but found Hawthorne Ridge the best. I would recommend it highly.
For 7 years, this has been "home" to me. Well acquainted with staff and residents gives me insight that I appreciate and a home that I admire. Grateful.
My family is so pleased with the wonderful care my mom receives. Thank you for all your effort to keep my mom happy, comfortable and healthy.
I have lived here for more than three years, I love it, and I can explain the "difference" if you're looking for a place to live. A lot of other senior communities are really just "senior apartments" and nothing else. They're not "communities" of friends and neighbors. Here at Eddy Hawthorne Ridge, its a real community feel...tons of organized trips and activities, and really nice food is served, like in a restaurant. This is not "cafeteria style" institutional food. In fact, we have an incredible wood-burning oven out in the open, in our dining area, and they make fantastic pizza. Honestly, in all our years ordering and eating pizzas from local pizza places...this pizza beats them all. They should open up a side business and sell it!

I'm in my early/mid 70s, have lived here for three years, and would highly recommend it to others. Here in independent living, we come and go as we please and many of us have cars that we drive to see friends and family or do whatever (in my case, I volunteer a lot and still like going to the mall). Although even if we didn't have a car, they provide transportation. There's another section of the community for assisted living, and that's for people who need extra help, but over here in independent living, many of us are quite active and enjoy getting out and going places frequently!

Mom and Dad comparison shopped "a lot" before moving in here. They toured eight places, and my husband and I went on five of those tours, including the one here at Eddy Hawthorne Ridge. They asked a lot of questions and talked with a lot of residents. They've now been here seven months and couldn't be happier.. They did their homework and made a good choice.

Dad really loves the fact that he can be social whenever he wants, because there are always plenty of people he can socialize with. But at the same time, he can always have all the privacy he wants, so it's the best of both worlds. This place is so much better, by a hundred times, than a similar senior residence who was in prior to moving here. Everything here is better quality, literally everything...including the staff, who are just wonderful.

A friend of ours is 73 years old and moved in just after she turned 70. We see her frequently--she's still very active and independent, and she always says what an excellent place this is. We've actually joined her for dinner a few times and it's always excellent, as good or better than what we get at a restaurant.

It was difficult to make the decision to place my 88 year old husband into Eddy Memory Care, but I have never regretted it for a moment. To know he is safe and being cared for by experts has been a wonderful benefit for my mental and physical state especially during this miserable period of COVID. Life for him was more enjoyable when they had live entertainment, trips and more activities, but like all of us he has adjusted. The staff provides all they can in physical care, mental stimulation, excellent nutrition, clean surroundings and loving concern. Communication with me is always prompt and I know he is well cared for. I cannot always visit him when I would like because of health department lock downs after a positive covid exposure. This too will pass. Everyone is vaccinated and staff are tested on a regular basis. I can call him or contact staff for reassurance whenever needed. I highly recommend this program!

I have been here for four months. I love my apartment, have made many new friends and have no complaints! The facilities are well-kept, staffed adequately and the grounds are beautiful. I was pleased to find the community welcoming but not overwhelming. You can socialize as much or as little you feel like doing! It is so nice not to have to cook or clean!

It was a nice place during our tour.
We chose Eddy Hawthorne Ridge because we felt like it was a community minded facility that really focused on the residents. The room sizes are very nice and spacious. The intake person was very good with us, she was helpful and great at letting us know what to expect. I would recommend them to others looking.

A Place for Mom has scored Eddy Hawthorne Ridge 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
