Cozy interiors combined with our quaint grounds create a picturesque atmosphere at Promenade at University Place, where we offer assisted living and memory care services in Albany, New York. Promenade at University Place is located in the center of New York State’s capital, surrounded by many historical districts and cultural events. Our more scholarly residents will be thrilled to reside across the street from University of Albany, which attracts many academic speakers. Our mission at Promenade at University Place is to enrich residents’ lives with endless experiences and optimism.
Being family owned and operated for many years now, we understand how difficult these trying times can be. In order to ensure that your loved one receives care that benefits their individual requirements, our staff meets with residents and their families to gain a better understanding of their medical, personal, and spiritual needs. We will then create a customized care plan tailored to fit those specific needs and preferences.
As we grow older, simple routines and daily tasks can become more challenging over time, which can lead some to feel like they are losing their independence. At Promenade at University Place, we try to find the correct balance between assistance...

Consider it for Medicaid funded, but if someone has private funds look elsewhere. Food - Just not very good. For example at dinner (evening meal) they serve soup and sandwiches. Activities - No outings with transportation despite saying that on tour. Also their communication, med management and health management is a chaotic mess. Impact examples are: • Not sending records to specialist for appointment resulting in waste of time and money for that visit. • Giving my mother someone else's meds (at least twice) which my mother caught.

It's been great! The staff are wonderful. Everyone is helpful and compassionate. They were the only facility in the area that offers an ALP for if my Aunt's finances are such that she needs to such to Medicaid. Big plus and draw with that feature.

My mom just became a resident of the Promenade at University Place in their new Alzheimer s unit and I was impressed with the compassion shown by [name removed] as we went through the intake process. She truly cares for all the residents and goes out of her way to make sure they are happy with their surroundings. Odette treated us like family!

My aunt, [name removed], has lived in the facility for two years. I spent two days with her when she first moved in and was so impressed with the friendliness of the staff and their attention to her needs. I ate delicious chef prepared meals and participated in their exercises and activities. The first day she was determined that she was not going to get up for breakfast but the second day she was there and ready for activities after eating and has been actively involved ever since. Since the unfortunate quarantine, I have been working with [name removed] to keep in touch with her through zoom and now [name removed] and I are working on a virtual birthday party for her at the end of April. If you are considering the Promenade, I encourage you to join their great community. .

Nice facility in area of shopping centers, many restaurants, and the U of Albany across street.Promenade is a Medicaid approved facility so most services and care can be covered if income level eligible. Accomodations are all on 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors so need some mobility to use elevators. Studios and one bedroom accomodatioons are standard furnished but you can bring own furnishings. Medicaid/billing coordinator very helpful w/navigating system.

A Place for Mom has scored Promenade at University Place 7.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
