Mom is eating good, walking more and enjoys the company. The staff that are there are so loving with the residents. It does seem like they are a little understaffed as I do not think mom is getting checked on as often as she was supposed to. There is a nurse on site all day and night. I have good communication with the staff and I would recommend this community.
Mom is doing great at Rochester Estates. The staff are very good to her. Everybody is very caring and on top of her needs. They're always in communication with me. The facility is very nice. I have no complaints other than the food is terrible - it just needs more flavor.
I have lived here for over 6 years. I do not think there could be a better place for me. I attend 10 exercise classes a week. I play bridge, pinochle, rummikub, hands & foot, go for walks around our campus with the lovely landscaping, eat luscious meals in our dining rooms, attend bible classes and church services, get good books to read from our well stocked library, go swimming indoors, and there is a art room for art projects including ceramics. There are all kinds of concerts, informative classes and parties held here and there is a movie theater with movies to go see everyday of the week. I still have my car in a garage here and I can come and go as I please. I am well cared for and feel safe and protected.

A nursing home is a complex that offers residence to at least two individuals who have no family ties to the administrator. This type of community provides its residents with around-the-clock care by registered nurses. These caregivers offer health related services for people who are unable to take care of themselves because of the effects of aging.
Nursing homes can be a familiar and easy care choice for individuals 65 years and above, however nursing homes will routinely admit persons 55 and older rarely heard of in senior care regarding different care types. Often times individuals might decide to live in a nursing home due to a mental or physical disability that prevents them from easily accomplishing the activities of daily living. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to be free from restraints, get proper privacy, property, and living arrangements, be free from discrimination, and get information on services and fees. Nursing homes are required to provide room and bed maintenance services, dietary services, medically-related social services, and nursing and related services to residents. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include personal reading materials, personal clothing, and special care services not included in the community’s Medicaid payment. The most frequent mental issue effecting residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can cloud their and their sense of familiarity with their surroundings, memory recall, and decision making capabilities.
