Creekside Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Meridian, ID
4.6

This place is like no other. I have seen many Skilled Nursing Facilities and this is the one you can walk in any time, day or night and there is no smell, its always clean, and the staff and patients are all laughing together. They interact and its not sterile and false and clinical. The staff genuinely connect with each other and the patients. The food is good, the management team is always helping, always attentive.

Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village in Meridian, ID
4.7

The staff are very, very kind and interested in the residents. They give 5-star service. They're also very interested in interacting with the families, and they welcome the families to come visit. If they have any staff shortages, the administrators will even fill in. They have great communication with emails and phone calls. And the food is quite good.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is an establishment that houses two or more persons who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. A nursing home community provides its inhabitants with 24-hour care by registered nurses. These nurses provide maintenance, personal care and other health related services for those who cannot care for their needs.

Nursing homes can be a convenient and easy care choice for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will commonly admit persons 55 and above which is unusual for other senior care types. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to have your representative notified about your care, participate in activities, be free from abuse and neglect, and exercise your rights as a U.S. citizen. Nursing homes are required to provide pharmaceutical services, a professionallly directed program of activities, medically-related social services, and nursing and related services to residents. Many occupants of nursing homes might have behavioral issues, which can consist of a tendency to wander, resisting assistance, or verbal outbursts. A large number of nursing home residents are seniors who experience difficulty seeing and hearing, have a physical or mental disability, have incontinence issues, or require assistance with daily tasks such as getting dressed. A large number of residents are bachelors or widows with less social support, and almost fifty percent of nursing home residents are older than 85 years old.
