Overland Court Senior Living

My mom was only in a couple of weeks before she passed but they took good care of her. I came and visited her every weekend and the people that worked there were very nice to me and to the people in there.

The staff at Overland Court were fantastic. They really made my Dad's last year the best it possibly could have been. Everyone knew him and loved him. They treated him like family, and cared for him better than I would have expected. I highly recommend Overland Court to anyone seeking memory care for their loved one!

1. Failure to notify the family of the fall and being sent to the hospital and not sending with the patient any medical records so the hospital didn't know of any underlying conditions or if he was on any medication that limits what the patient can safely receive; 2. Fall was the result of a caregiver was so focused on an action involving the patient he didn't notice that the patient who has dementia was confused and became fearful enough that the patient wanted the person to go away and he didn't so the patient felt the need to defend himself.

The staff are friendly and are willing to help you when asked. The place looks clean and well taken care of.

The staff seemed committed to doing a good job and responded to our requests quickly. I would recommend them.

Facility is well taken care of. They just spent the money to totally re-roof the buildings. Have not been in the memory care part of the facility so I can't comment. Staff is helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Overland Court to others looking.

We are very pleased with my friend's living at Overland Park. I see All of the categories as excellent except for activities. Otherwise, my friend is very well taken care of. He needs to participate in activities, like chair exercises. He could really use some encouragement in that area. That would be my only and most important recommendation. He needs the teacher to come get him for the exercises. He sleeps in his chair and needs a push to exercise. Thank you for the opportunity to share my concern.

I would definitely recommend Overland Court Senior Living. My mom is picky and once she got/gets over the fact that she HAS to live there she likes it. She comments every time we go over how good the food is and that "they don't bother her". Mom likes to be left alone. She joins in when she wants to and they don't make her if she doesn't. Our family thinks they are fantastic.

Not terribly impressed because [name removed] has been there a year and has so many issues, very sad but it's kind of late to move him at this point and we are on a waiting list but no movement as it is. I would not recommend.

We like that they transport to medical appointments and have lots of different activities for the residents. Communication isn't great and there have been 2 times that [name removed] was sent to the ER by ambulance and we were not informed. The base price has increased over [fee removed] in less than 2 years without any level of care change.

They have experienced, knowledgeable admin staff that help make the entire process seamless. The staff are all very kind to the residents and the meals include lots of options.

It has been a great placement for her! They are always welcoming to family and allow us to have meals there. Our mom loves the activities, staff and residents. We feel the communication is very good with families about any concerns they have. The Facebook page is updated often and we love seeing mom on it!

Activities is rated a 4 only because my Mom is in a transitional unit so she could do more activities some days but still needs memory care and 24/7 supervision. When we moved in they had us sign an agreement that if Mom can no longer afford to stay they will not force her to move. That was very comforting. My Mom says everyone there is very kind. The food is great. It has always been very clean when I visit. The staff is positive to the residents and helpful to the family visitors. They have medical care visits in house. Mom allowed some care that she has been refusing for years.

I am very impressed with all of the staff. Very professional and efficient. They are always friendly and smiling. They make fun activities for the residents which keeps them busy and feeling good. They take very good care of my husband. I couldn’t be more pleased.

The staff at every level was very attentive to Mom and made Mom's stay as pleasant as possible. The facility was clean and well maintained. The other residents also appeared happy and liked their experience there as well.

The staff is wonderful, the facility is clean and it's "bright". I visited other facilities in our area and they were kind of dark. I think a bright atmosphere has a big affect on mood. I would recommend this assisted living to anyone

They need a better intake system and better communication. My mom was without two crucial medications for the whole first month, and we're lucky that I discovered it! If they could get that move-in process a little more organized and everything else has been great. We picked this place because after at least 2 years of self pay it converts to Medicaid, which is what Mom will most likely need

The dining is hit or miss, sometimes the food is pretty good and the service is great and other times it's horrible. They need a better system for taking orders in a timely matter and making sure tables don't get missed. The Head Nurse [name removed] was wonderful and a few others were exceptional. [name removed] [name removed] and [name removed] went above and beyond taking care of my dad. I know he was well taken care of and loved.

My mother-in-law went into this facility about a month ago. The facility is bright and cheery and the staff are helpful, professional and very accomodating. They update us on any and all changes in their care for my mother-in-law. I would recommend them to anyone needing expert elder care.

Staff, med techs, nursing, housekeeping are wonderful. The kitchen staff is mean and the food is disgusting. Runny, cold, too many starches. The old cook was much better. The last six months it’s gone DOWNHILL and for what we pay for this place, it needs to improve or we’ll be leaving. My mom doesn’t even eat it. The water has floating junk in the glasses too.
