Cumming Senior Living
5.0

We moved our dad here in January of this year. I have been so happy with the quality of care and cleanliness. All of the other families of the residents that I’ve met are all so kind. The food is excellent as well! I highly recommend Cumming Nursing Center for your loved one.

Dogwood Forest of Grayson
5.0

My husband ended up at Dogwood Forest in Grayson. It was expensive but I would give it a 10+. The food is so important to the residents, the high light of their day. They have a 'real' chef there and I ate many meals there myself. So number one is meals. They also had awesome entertainment. Sometimes it was the staff other times outside people. They go above and beyond the standards. You should check it out yourself.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is a complex that offers housing to at least two seniors who have no familial relation to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its inhabitants around-the-clock care by on-site nurses. These nurses provide health related services for those who are unable to care for their needs due to mental or physical conditions, including age.

Nursing homes are a helpful and comfortable living choice for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will commonly take in persons 55 and greater which is uncommon for other senior care types. The most common mental disease experienced by nursing home residents is dementia, which can hinder their decision making capacities, and familiarity, and memory recall. Many residents of nursing homes are elders with interpersonal social issues. These can include verbal fits, resisting support, or experiencing a desire to wander. Examples of amenities and services provided at nursing homes can include social and recreational activities, adult day health care (which offers nursing and therapy) , intravenous or nutrition therapy, and patient and caregiver education. Many occupants tend to be single women who have circles of support, and about half of nursing home residents are over the age of 85. A large portion of nursing home residents are individuals who have a physical or mental disability, have incontinence issues, require assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, or experience difficulty with hearing and seeing.
