My mother moved to Gardens of Gainesville a few months back. She has adjusted quite nicely and participates as much as possible. Overall, her transition has been quite positive. There have been a couple instances of concern on my end. Although the staff is friendly, communication is often difficult as answers seem to be vague, uncertain, or unanswered. I am not convinced trash is taken out on a regular basis as 2-3 days will go by and when I return, the same trash bag is still in the bathroom trash can and with incontinence issues makes the room a bit less aromatic. Unfortunately, on two occasions some money appeared to go missing from her wallet. When I reluctantly approached staff about this concern, there was no follow through about my report. Mom is happy and she is close to my home which is a huge plus and has to be the bottom line.

Our caring team truly values creating a warm and engaging environment for all our residents. We very much appreciate your five star review and your recommendation.
At first I was turned off by the idea of settling into a retirement community but now my wife and I have adapted very well to it. The staff is most helpful but mostly the other residents have helped make it very good home for us.

August 20, 2024Thank you, Clyde, for sharing your experience! We're so glad to hear that you and your wife have settled in comfortably at Gardens of Gainesville. It’s wonderful to know that both our helpful team and the welcoming residents have made it feel like home for you. Our community thrives because of connections like these, and we're thrilled you’re enjoying your time here!
If I could give 0 for care I would. Went every week and she would be covered in new bruises and scrapes. She had black eyes and the last straw was when I found her on the floor in her room dressed only in a shirt lying in a pool of urine. No depends or slacks in sight and she must have trying to get to the bathroom. As I was coming down the hall I could hear her crying for help. Two aids were sitting less than 30 feet away! Just keep a close eye on everything. Going once a week was not enough but it was almost 2 hours one way. No excuse though, how I wish I would have went more. They informed me since I didn't give 30 days notice I would be charged another month $5,000. I showed them all the pictures of her injuries and they backed down right quick! I should have contacted an attorney but hated to drag it all out.

June 13, 2024Miki, I am the Regional Director of Operations and was sorry to read your feedback on your experience. Your concerns are taken very seriously as residents' safety and well-being are our top priorities. Please contact me via the community so we can discuss this further and address your concerns. Regards, Michell.
It was between a couple of places judged to be pretty equal. Gardens had an opening and the parents had backed themselves into a corner. Not the staffs fault but they are running the place with the least amount of people they can. We feel lucky that poppa is there. Momma passed away in July and the way they handed it was fantastic.

We're grateful that your father remains part of our community at Gardens of Gainesville, and we're committed to continuing to provide exceptional care for him.
They are very accommodating and caring. I picked this community, because of the staff's willingness to help, mom can have her dogs with her.

October 18, 2023Thanks for your feedback Ian. We love having your mom (and her dogs) here and appreciate your shout out for our accommodating and caring team.
It has progressive care. Independent living, assisted living, memory care. Also, cost was reasonable. I would say the staff and residents are friendly and welcoming. It's not perfect, of course. No place is. But I'm happy with my apartment, the food, amenities, and location to medical and other needs. Coming here was a good decision.

Response from Gardens of Gainesville
September 27, 2023TS, thanks for sharing your thoughts on life at the Gardens of Gainesville. We're honored you call the Gardens your home. and appreciated reading of the many aspects of life here you enjoy.
Garden's of Gainesville is overall above average and very homey atmosphere. No visiting hours to limit your accessibility to the facility and family members can even stay overnight with their parent which is unusual in my experience with assisted living facilities. The food is about average and good occasionally but better than the other facilities that we've experienced so far. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant. The amenities are nice in the independent living side and can be used by assisted living residents if they are accompanied by an employee or a family member.

Response from Gardens of Gainesville
May 26, 2023Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're glad to see that the warm and inviting atmosphere at the Gardens of Gainesville has impressed you, as has the food and amenities. As we want every resident and family to have a 5-star experience we invite you to speak with us directly about how we get there for you.
My loved one was severely malnourished and dehydrated when he fell. It is very very difficult to get anyone on the phone in the evening or on weekends. They can improve in the memory care area. They let my loved one not eat for 3 weeks before telling us. My loved one ended up falling and breaking a hip and passed away 2 months later. My other loved one is still there. They have improved with some of the activities and things but it is too late for one of my loved one. I would not recommend them unless you stay on top of everything that goes on.

Response from Gardens of Gainesville
February 23, 2022Thanks Millie! We're so glad to see you love the people, food and programs at the Gardens. We love knowing you call this your home, and very much appreciate your wonderful recommendation.
There were a few things here that were not the right fit for us. It seemed be a very high class place. I just couldn't imagine going down for breakfast to a linen tablecloth. We also noticed there was very little communication between our hostess who was showing us around and the residents. They didn’t speak, nod, or smile to each other in the time that we were there. And that concerned me. Also we wanted our apartment to have a better view.
Response from Gardens of Gainesville
February 24, 2022Thank you for visiting with us. Our entire team thinks of our residents as family and tries to get to know each and every one of them on a personal level. We were sorry to see that you did not feel that wonderful vibe when you visited. We invite you to come back and enjoy a meal with us, and in doing so get to know some of our amazing residents and team members -- and we can also show you some other apartments that might be closer to what you were looking for.
The tour that we got was fine, the girl who was giving it was newer so she was not able to answer all of the questions that we had. It was a little pricier and further than another one we looked into so we passed on them.

We are committed to working closely with residents to help them identify the best possible options for their needs. My parents are settling in nicely at Gardens of Gainesville. They really like it there. It is a beautiful and clean community. The staff is very friendly and caring. It is very easy to communicate with the staff members either by phone or text. Also, my parents have phone service in their room so it is easy to contact them. I have dined there several times with my parents and the food is really good. They offer choices and variety in their meals. They encourage the residents to participate but respect the residences preferences if they don't wish to engage. The atmosphere is like southern living home. Very warm and cozy. They have areas for residents to gather and socialize, such as a courtyard, a library, a living room, and a craft area. They have a lot to choose from. I would absolutely recommend this community to others.

We liked the tour from the nice staff. This is a clean community with a nice environment for care. The meals seemed to be appealing. They did not have a dr at night in case I needed a physician. We liked that they had a lot to offer. We would have liked this community. Families should tour this community for the care and value that is offered.

This is a very nice community, and I'am pleased with my wife's move here. She is doing very well, and being cared for well. They have a great staff, and they are always willing to help. The community is well maintained. I know they do a good job with the cleanliness, everything is very neat and tidy. There are activities for the residents. I would say the meals could use some improvement. It has been a good experience. I can sleep good at night knowing she is safe and in a good place. This is a community I would recommend.

This community just felt like home. The rooms were spacious and each resident had a space outside their room to show their individuality, whether it be their favorite sports mascot, sculptures from their missions in Africa or a child's statue playing hide and seek. They also have two dogs that share both the assisted and memory care units and the residents love them dearly. I could say more, but you really have to experience this one!
