The communication needs improvement as it is difficult to get accurate information on our family member. It seems very challenging to get answers to our questions - we can't get a bill, find out easily when certain things are scheduled like showers and when she had the last one, or when laundry is done or whether she ate her meals. Also I would recommend a system of wearable alarms that have fall detection if someone falls and isn't able to press their call button. It would also be helpful if check ins could be scheduled for folks who need some regular assistance with toileting.
My parents did not end up staying, but it was not the fault of the community. The people, both residents and staff, were absolutely lovely. Based on the experience we ere able to have, we would 100% recommend them to others.
We have been really happy with Jennifer Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care. The staff members there are very caring and it feels like a home to us. Based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend them to other families.

Nursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide long-term care for seniors with significant physical or mental health conditions, and short-term care to people recovering from an injury or hospital stay. Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home is an establishment that offers housing to at least two individuals who have no personal ties to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its inhabitants around-the-clock care by registered nurses. These caregivers offer care for seniors who are unable to take care of themselves due to the effects of aging.
This type of community is a familiar and comfy care alternative for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will commonly allow access to individuals 55 and above (a rarity in the world of senior care). The most frequent mental disease effecting nursing home residents is dementia, which can cloud their decision making capabilities, and familiarity, and memory function. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to participate in activities, have protections against involuntary transfer or discharge, have your representative notified about your care, and be free from restraints. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include personal clothing, flowers and plants, and special care services not included in the community’s Medicaid payment. Nursing homes are required to provide medically-related social services, nursing and related services, pharmaceutical services, and emergency dental services to residents. A large number of occupants tend to be single women who have less social support, and about half of nursing home residents are over the age of 85.
